I will offer a word of warning regarding buying memory cards off eBay, especially SanDisk. There are many more fraudulent SanDisk cards on eBay than there are legitimate ones, and you aren't saving a great deal of money to justify the risk of getting scammed.

That said, any SanDisk Micro SD will work. The only limitation will be the memory card size (4gb, 8gb, 16gb, etc.) and I'm not familiar what the max is for the Storm 2, but certainly 8gb will work fine. I would suggest simply going to a local store and buying one, or at least buying one online from a reputable retailer.

Ditto. I worry about infected media as well. Buy from a known reputable source.

I'm more comfortable buying from amazon when I know that it is actually coming from Amazon. Many times things come from the marketplace stores. You can check out reviews from them though. I think you could get up to a 32 gig card if I'm not mistaken.

I've bought cards via amazon. One time the cards were loose, not packaged. Made me nervous. But I didn't have a problem.

Yep, Amazon isn't always the seller for items purchased through Amazon, so you would need to pay attention when buying items from them. If Amazon is the seller, the listing will say "sold by and shipped from Amazon" or something like that. Otherwise, you are buying from a third-party vendor that sells through Amazon. Just something to be aware of.

Bear in mind, of course, that I'm not a fan of the third-party sellers via Amazon arrangement. Unknown sellers (that would otherwise sell via eBay, and may sell in both locations) count on the buyer not realizing that Amazon isn't the retailer that they are buying from. So you can easily stumble upon dishonest sellers via Amazon.

I have dealt with micro cards from Cell Phone Shop dot com ( all one word ) for a few years. They are fairly fast and never had any problem with what I bought.

To clarify, limitations on media card size is not based on the phone but on the OS. This is one of the items covered in the great FAQs here on Blackberryforums.com.
What type and size Media Card can I use in my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

I usually buy through Amazon, either sold directly form Amazon or from one of the marketplace vendors. Like ebay, buyers should check out the feedback and ratings for any vendor. I've never had problems with any that I've used. Frequently, you can get the san disk cards in "bulk packaging" which is cheaper than retail packaging. Means you just don't get all the extra cardboard you need to throw away.

Which phone? Which carrier? I just ordered two Storm 2s from Verizon on-line this weekend and the invoice says they come with a 16GB card. The Tour I ordered at the same time says it comes with a 2 GB card. Believe it is phone/carrier specific.

Banksdaname,

hit your local mall and try a camera shop. They sell quality MicroSD cards that work very well in cellular phones.

I hit a camera shop here with my Storm in hand and they allowed me to insert the card in my phone and try it. Most electronic stores also carry MicroSD's but I have found camera shops to be the friendliest. They always let me test drive the product.

I clicked on the link that you provided, and then the one that was embedded in that link that took me back to RIM's site. My questions is this though:

Does the upgrade to the new 5.0 OS mean that my 9530 is now capable of handling a 32GB card?

Your 9530 was capable of handling a 32GB card before OS 5.
OS 4.6 and above (i.e. 4.6.1, 4.7, 4.7.1) can all handle 32gb cards.

newegg.com usually has fantastic prices on the higher capacity cards and they ship right away.
