and as a side note, this isn't the app i'm talking about, but if someone could ever pull off an app that changes your voicemail based on the user calling then that would be awesome ... not sure if that's possible from a developers side though

How about a phone call recorder? I need to capture details callers give me while I'm driving or have my hands too full to take notes.

At work my phone has to be on silent, and when I get off, I always forget to put the ringer back on. I think it would be a good idea to have an app that will allow you to set the type of ringer mode depending on the time of the day. I could set my phone to vibrate or silent from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, or customize it in anyway I want to.

Also it would be great if we have a theater mode. This mode will automatically put the phone on vibrate and dim the screen to the lowest level so when you check your phone or I to send a text, the bright screen will not bother anyone else.

I need a simple utility that I can run once each day that would rollover my tasks with past due dates in the native BB ToDo list to the current date. Had one for Palm years ago, can't be too hard, but I know doodly-squat about programming. It would be nice to see RIM release an API that takes hold of the channel from the phone to the earpiece routed to the speakerphone output.

The speakerphone services can be managed so far but capturing the phone output sent to the speakerphone would be an excepationally useful interface for development of voice/recording and call capturing.

If you can set the ring-tones through a series of phone ring settings for volume control, (knowing the phone rings through the speakerphone of phone) then you should also be able to capture the digital pulses of the voice that's coming through the radio/broadband DAConverter.

One of the most heavily requested apps is for recording of a live phone conversation capturing all callers on the call. There are thousands of legitimate and legal reasons to do this.

I would like to see a threaded SMS app. It gets tiring having to go through all of the text messages; it would be much easier to have all of the texts in a conversation show up all in one text so that there would only be one text per person in the texts folder. Thanks (:

This already exists in OS 5.0. However, there is no OS 5.0 for the 8330. You just need a newer device like the 8530, 9530, 9630, etc.

There's one major app I would like to see, and that's a dedicated one for Facebook chat. I don't know about you, but I use FB on my iPod Touch and my BlackBerry Curve, and I have Windows Live, Yahoo! etc, on it, but nothing for Facebook chat or Skype.

And yes, I know there are all-in-one apps available for it, but wouldn't it just be nice if we could integrate Facebook Chat and the main Facebook into one app, much like they do on the iPod/iPhone?

I have a friend who has been in the hospital since February. The best way for him to communicate is with his Blackberry.

There are times when he emails me in the middle of the night--when there are issues with the nursing staff and he is too weary to argue with them (mostly about his pain meds "disappearing" or being "unavailable").

In any case, there are times when I would like to sleep and still be available for his calls only. I hate leaving my phone on because then everyone gets through to me.

I wish there was a way to turn off my phone BUT have it turn on if ONLY he calls me. I'm sure I'm not the only person who would like to hear from some folks but not everyone.

If this is available now, please email me and tell me how to do it!
