Ick. I can't stand the smell of "fake" maple syrup. Like the "Weight Control Maple" flavored Quaker oatmeal. The smell of my battery reminds me of that.

I wish I wasn't familiar with the smell of my battery (too many battery pulls in to short of a period of time)...but I am, and it does (smell like fake maple syrup). Does yours?

Umm... now I'm curious. I'll try this next time I have to do a battery pull.

..which knowing my poor 8800, that'll be at 5am when I wake up tomorrow as it'll have already errored

Haha that's funny, I honestly just pulled my battery just to smell it. However, it doesn't really smell like fake maple syrup. Mine kind of smells like almonds, but I use this almond moisturizer so I think it is that. Or at least I hope it is, because it has a strong smell of almonds, haha!

Mine doesn't smell ... doesn't really taste like much either ... kind of a let down all around.

Mine just has a battery-ie smell to it. I wish mine had a cool smell like everyone elses. Maybe I should call AT&T customer service and have the batter or whole device replaced.
