Default Call clipping..

Please Login to Remove!

im getting some complaints from people I talk to about parts of the conversation being clippped and causing confusion. Occasionaly I do notice missing a syllable or two of what the other person says.. usually I can make out what they are saying... but this shouldn't be something I have to worry about. Every time I've noticed this I have checked and had 4 or 5 bars. At first I thought it was my bluetooth headset.. but I stopped using it for a day or so and still got some complaints. Is this more than likely a phone problem or a network problem?

d/l'ing now... if the OS isn't carrier specific, why do they release different versions for different carriers?

It's all in the device chippy's.. tells it what band 'o cell you use. Now as a rule the devices use the same OS per major model (71XX, 87XX, 72XX, etc) but again, that is as a rule and should be taken as a grain of salt. Do your own research in places like this. Sounds like you have a guinea pig already.

This is a known issue with RF performance of Blackberries that I've seen mentioned in more than one professional review. I highly doubt that downloading new OS version has any chance of fixing this problem. It is quite annoying, to the point that I'm considering getting a separate device for voice calls.

I had allot more issues with my 7290 as I do with the 8700, I think it is more device specific than OS, I believe the 72xx series is the worst, followed by the 71xx and then the 8700 being the best.

I really just started noticing this more and more lately. Hopefully BB will be able to get a "fix" for it because I use it for buisness and I feel like a jack_ _ _ saying what was that....LOL.

i guess its more like a couple packets got lost than a clip... usually clipping is associated with the beginning or end of a sentence getting clipped... this happens at the end, start and middle of sentences... if any of you have ever used VOIP its very similar to some of the collision and packet transmission problems you often see with voip traffic.

The only problems I've had with my 8700 is when I'm using the speakerphone. Sometimes the person I'm talking to can't hear me. But just using the normal speaker for the device or my bluetooth headset, I've had no problems.

My 7280 had some major issues. I bought it from a friend of mine and it worked perfectly. About 3 weeks later, it would lose it's signal. I would be on a call for about 2 minits, then it would lose it's service. After the call was dropped, it would have service again. It seemed like it would usually have service until I needed to use the device. After a couple of weeks of serious frustration and a flaring temper, I decided to upgrade to the 8700c and I haven't looked back.

I'm trying to think of a good way to demolish the 7280 if anyone has any ideas. LOL!
