Default BES 5.0.1 Monitoring issue

Please Login to Remove!

Just got 5.0.1 up and running with about 100 users (still have around 50 on the temp BES server). well thought i'd look at the monitoring feature i chose to install.

tried to hit the web page from the server and it's no go. if i do it from my workstation i get "The requested resource (/webconsole:8443/appMain.html) is not available." but the webserver is working with administration of the BES.

is there an issue here i wasn't aware of? i can't seem to find anything on it? we use other products to actually tell us if the server is up or not and the blackberry services. i just wanted to see what RIM's in house app offered.

any ideas?

do you have multiple bas in the pool, if so behind a load balancer? what do the tomcat logs say?

C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Monitoring Service\external\tomcat\logs

I have 2 BAS behind a hardware LB set to LB geographically. so when i setup monitoring and pointed it to the pool name it would sit there and never connect so the monitoring page wouldnt load. i changed the pool name to one of the specific BAS servers and it started working.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Administration Service

set BASDNSRoundRobinHostName to the FQDN of one of the physical BAS server names. it works but its still a workaround. rim has SDR311648 for the issue but no resolution yet.
