Unhappy App error 523

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using my 8700 for over 2 yrs now and i'm well aware of how to use that model. Well I'm helping a friend out with a problem with her BB Curve from T-Mobile. Everytime it boots up it says App Error 523 and on the bottom of that it says RESET. So if you press the reset icon it reboots the phone and it does the same thing. I called Blackberry support. After 3 tries I finally found someone whom I can hold a whole conversation with to resolve this issue. She told me to download the software update and upload thru the Desktop manager. I tried that and it didnt work. I plug it up to the Desktop manager and it supposed to say connected but it shows it saying disconnected. I go thru the connection settings and it shows the PIN and it says its connected thru USB. I dunno whats up. I'm trying to clear everything and fix this problem for her and i'm stuck. Please if anyone knows what his code is or how to resolve this let me know how. Thanks.

you will probably need to use JL Commander to wipe the device and reload the OS

If you are getting any type of error that prevents the device from booting up all the way, you won't get a connection on the desktop manager.

Do this: Remove the battery and leave it out. Then plug in your device and double click on the Application Loader icon. Then just go through the software loading process like you normally would. About halfway through the updating process, put the battery back in making sure to not disconnect the device from the PC.

Thanks so much Dave! I had a rough time yesterday trying to figure out what to do with my App Error 523 (I'm using 8900 Javelin btw). I spent the whole day and night trying to finding the solution. (Having mistyped Error 235 in my searches DID NOT HELP AT ALL. Shame one me)

But this helped. Thanks very much.

I have this message a few days ago and I have solved it by removing the themes part..

1. first plug the device to your computer

2. in the upgrade software part remove the themes and leave 2-3 basic themes from the software

3. press the button "app 523 error - reset" button and run the upgrades from your computer, it will be solved and u will not get any 523 error from your BB..

I wrote it down by not looking the steps I have told, I wrote it down by remembering, hope u can manage it by looking the desktop software..

if it doesnt work try to downgrade the BB software..
