PIN, a personal identifier used by RIM as a unique ID for each BlackBerry Device, and used for identifying that device on the carrier network and for device to device communication.

You have one also, look at Options > Status, or printed on the white label underneath the battery and on the label of the box the BB came in.

I just recently got my blackberry, and also have a yellow smiley at the top of my screen with a number one next to it. I can't figure out what its for! I have checked BB messenger, and have no new conversations. When I go to the BB messenger home screen it doesn't prompt me for anything...I have also checked my SMS and MMS texts and there isn't anything new their either! Can anyone help me out??

I had a yellow round icon at the top, didn't know what it was..then i found out it was an alert for received WAP push. Found it in messaging.

Not sure why it bugs me, but I have the same icon sitting there, the happy face with the number one beside it. There is nothing in messenger, etc. Checked them all...

Is there a way to replace the smiley face in messenger - say i want to use a texas longhorn symbol - can that be set up so that mt contacts see that for me?

If you put a Texas Longhorn symbol there, it quickly gets replaced by an Oklahoma Sooners symbol.

Do you mean as a notification or as an emoticon?

As a notification, then it's possible as that is theme controlled.
