Question Anyone Else Notice the "Tamper Seal" on your new Bold??

Please Login to Remove!

Pop off your back cover and take a look at the six screws, any of them have a piece of paper covering one. I saw this with my Sunset Curve that I had and wondering if anyone else is thinking that RIM has put this on here as a "tamper seal"? Mine is on the right hand side, second screw down. Yours?

I just looked and I have one too.

Although mine was put on by a drunk or something since it's off to one side.

i am fairly sure that is also the moisture indicator, not that i have sprayed it with water to see if it turns red! lol.

but as a tamper indicator, pretty easy to circumvent.

No, it's not a moisture indicator. The moisture indicator is under the battery on the lower left battery housing wall. It makes no sense to put two in essentially the same spot.

How is it easy to circumvent exactly?

ok, your right, not a moisture indiactor (just took a closer look at it)..
looks like it's destructible vinyl, so have to be careful, but i can easily lift my sticker off the screwhead with an exacto knife.
worst case, i know of a few printing houses who could easily make me some of those circles, or i could cut them out of existing stickers i have..

Hmm. Destructible vinyl. That sounds fancy! LOL! It makes me wonder why even do something like this. Especially after all this time. They were probably getting burned on warranty claims but BBs are so easy to take apart and put back together, I would rather do the repair myself in 20 minutes, then have it away for a week or longer.

My 8310 didn't have it, but my Sunset 8320 did. I'm thinking it's just been the newer builds and newer devices out of the gate.

I hope that doesn't become an issue if it just falls off, in case it is a tamper seal.

If it is a moisture indicator I can tell you that it fails miserably at indicating moister - see "Toilet Bold" thread

I did destroy it while executing the emergency surgery, however.

Oh, your Potty Bold! It's really good to know that it survived. At least we know for sure it isn't a moisture indicator from actual "testing".

Ask Marker about them. It's a limited edition release. He may be able to get you one.
