Default unread messages still showing on 9650

Please Login to Remove!

OS 6.0...just switched back to my Bold from my Style (that was quick) and cant get rid of two unread messages. I have searched and tried everything with no luck....I have tried

battery pull
Alt - sym - del reset
saved messages
view folders and checked every message
mark prior read

Any other suggestions?

Are you talking about messages that won't delete, or a counter that won't go to 0?

For the former, the likely issue is a corrupt database. I think you would need to clear/delete the messages database with desktop manager (and selectively restore messages from backup).

For the later, after you've tried everything else, some people have had luck changing the theme and then changing it back.

My message count says 2 messages but I can't find two messages to read or delete. I just noticed another thing - not seeing all calendar entries on my device that are in outlook. Very strange.

Reset Counters ..............

How do I reset my message counter to clear, or zero? - BlackBerryFAQ

Calendar ...

Recognize that if you have multiple email addresses configured, then you have multiple calendars. And, Desktop Manager only sync's the default calendar with outlook. Check this. Your default calendar is set in default services in device options.

Also double check the setting in calendar on the device for how long to keep calendar entries, and double check sync configuration in desktop manager.

If the above doesn't help you, post some details on exactly what you are doing and what you observe happening.

Read down further in the faq article...but you tried everything except changing theme. If that doesn't work and you can't live with it, next step is wipe and reload.

Your guess is as good as mine.

But my guess is those messages aren't really there, so they are not in the message database to be backed up and restored. It's a glitch elsewhere in the data and/or software, and obviously the wipe and reload fixes it or it wouldn't be in the FAQ. But there are exceptions to every rule.

I just went from one device to another and also have a new Bold that I can switch over to...may try to wipe this one first so I dont have to break the seal. I noticed that I had to re-invite every BBM contact when I came back to the bold and really dont want to have to do that again. Appreciate the help.

Same issue here! While I was erasing a lot of emails many of which were unread , more started coming and as I was deleting it was receiving at the same time. Result - 5 messages showing unread but they are not there.
I guess the OS reinstallation seems the only option
Now how do u wipe n re-install the OS?

Read the FAQ article if you haven't already. Reinstalling the OS is the last resort.

Otherwise, go to the FAQ and find the two articles on JL_CMDER. Use that to wipe the device. That will leave you with 507 error.

To install the OS, you have several options. You can let Desktop Manager automatically install the latest OS package released by your carrier. Or you can download and manually install the latest OS released by your carrier. Or, find the "latest OS" thread for your model in the section of the forums for your series BlackBerry. In any case, follow the instructions exactly.
