Default Alarm Not Escalating - Problem still not sorted?

Please Login to Remove!

I've found a couple of references to this problem in the forum (from as far back as May last year), but no references to a solution.

You can set an alarm to use an escalating tone but when it goes off, it starts in Low and stays there.

Anyone know of a fix?

I think I experience this as well, but was thinking it was related to the tone I was using for the alarm. I'm not able to test now, but can you test with a different tone?

AFAIK, this was/is an issue with .190, and a few other OS'... which are you on? i am still on .190 and it is there, but when I asked on another BB forum, someone tested it for me and said that it was fixed in .234... Escalating in Alarm is not working, but Ringtones are... that's weirdest part.

Thanks for responding guys.

No, it's nothing to do with the tone. I've tried various. (and escalation works everywhere else you can set it)

As to the OS, I notice I'm still on 4.6.0.162. As that's after an update last night I thought it already was the most current. What do I need to do to get right up to date?

Orange's latest is .162 (though for the love of god i dont know why).
If you want the latest and don't mind that it isn't your own carriers OS then click the stickied thread at the top of the forum that says "latest OS" and it will give you the latest official OS.

I'm too inexperienced, at the moment to risk upgrading. The last thing I need when I call Orange support is them telling me "Sorry, we don't support that version of the OS". But thanks for the advice. I'm sure it'll come it handy one day.

To get up to date you need to upgrade.
When you say "after an update" what exactly did you do? Use Desktop Manager connect to the phone, which told you to update? Has it since told you update?

Unless you've installed your current OS, from the Orange update site, onto your PC, it will always ask you update.

As far as I know, its rare for any carrier to ask what OS verison you are using, because they assume you are using their latest (even if latest is a relative term); however, if need be, you can also downgrade. Which means you can have you carriers OS back on the phone.

Instruction on upgrading/downgrade can be found in the forum and it is very easy to actually do.
