I use my BB as an MP3 player. I put a lot of albums on the 8GB micro SD card.
Everything works fine.

My BB is set to lock after 5 mins. So if I listen to music for more than 5 minutes, the BB automatically locks. At that point, nothing unusual happens, and I can continue to listen to music.

However, If i need to do something else with the BB, I have to enter the password to unlock it.

At that point, the Media player freezes. Checking that in more details, it looks like the BB is actually, moving in "Scanning mode" checking for all media items on the SDcard to detect new files.

My Media card was formated with the device. I tried to delete all the "BBthumbs.dat" files as indicated in the this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/medi...t-reboots.html but not luck. Any idea what could cause this?

Do you have any Media Card Encryption turned on or Content Protection enabled?

Options -> Media to check for any encryption.

I had my Media Card encryption using the password so when I unlocked my phone it stop the media player in it's tracks when I unlocked it... I changed that pretty quickly lol.

Yes, I do but not for media file.

Try turning off all encryption on the media card, now I am curious

It worked !
I turned all encryption off. Did not encrypt any file before any way....
