How did you get it so early? Cingular's website says it will not ship until 10/5.

How does it compare to the 7100 and/or 72XX? If you have a 7100 do you like the 7290 better?

Thanks

Yeah, you know what - you're on my list man.

You can't come in here and say "Hey that device you all want? I have one, but I can't tell you anything about it because I'm too busy enjoying it,"

:P

I may prefer it to my 7100t and only have 11 more days to return the 7100t! Help me out! ;)

Default hey there

depends which list you are talking about now.
the jabra is fantastic...the volume on the device is very low...any one has ideas of how to increase it?
2) How does one initiate calls from the bluetooth?
3) trying to figure out the best to transfer outlook data to BB.

The jabra has a volume control. That is what the "up down" arrows are for on the headset.

If the 7290 doesn't support voice dialing, you cannot initiate calls from Bluetooth. I wasn't aware of the 7290 supporting voice dial.

USB cable that came with it is your best option.

(I don't think it allows Serial Port service over Bluetooth, nor OBEX over Bluetooth)

7290 doesn't support voice dial, which is why 2 units got returned today :(. Right now, I beleive the USB cable is the only way to transfer and sync with outlook. Down the road, I'm sure there may be some firmware upgrade, or even third-party app that might sync via bluetooth, which would be nice.

With a BES for sure, version 4.0 supports OTA sync with outlook.

But they weren't asking about OTA. They were talking about TTA (Where TTA is Through-the-Air via local Bluetooth connection)

You can do OTA sync with 3.x on a BES of course, and 4.0 too. Not sure I understand what you're saying.

Are you talking about a way to sync addressbook and calendars with a BWC running 4.0?

Indeed. My point is with 4.0, you can completely sync the BB to Outllok without a cable or TTA connection. I think that's more cool than a BT connection.

I'm betting that it's running 3.8, but we'll see!

I'm going to order a 7290 this week. Will I need to connect to a 3d party BES/MDS provider to get full HTML web browsing with the 3.8.0.134? What about after I swap this OS with the 4.0?

Doesnt look like it. But nobody knows if OS 4.0 has support for bluetooth devices, or if it needs it has its own part in 3.8..
