Default storm unlocked.. please point me in the right direction

Please Login to Remove!

Ok.. I'm sure you've all heard this before. I unlocked a 9550 to use on att. Phone and text work fine. Security wiped the phone. Phone keeps saying "enterprise server" for email. Will someone with real knowledge please tell me what I gotta do to get it off and install my att service books on the phone. Again sorry for the question that has been probably asked and answered 56356 times. Thanks again!

1 - Do you have a BlackBerry data plan? (If not, I understand AT&T will detect your smartphone when it connects to the network and add the plan. But sounds like you want it now. So if you don't have it, call AT&T and add the BlackBerry data plan to your account.)

2 - Once you have the plan on your account, you need to associate your BlackBerry handset with the BIS account. You can do this yourself, or call AT&T for help. If you've been using the BIS web portal previously with a BlackBerry, go there and change the PIN and re-send service books.

I have a bold 9700. Just wanted to switch over to a storm. Soon as I put my sim in I go to email and the phone says "has been setup for enterprise use" or something like that.

Because your BIS is still associated with your 9700, not your Storm. Read point 2 in my post above.

And you'll find you don't have BBM, either, nor any other BlackBerry data services BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT ASSOCIATED THAT BLACKBERRY WITH YOUR BIS ACCOUNT.

The BIS web portal is the full HTML website the carrier provides to users for users to setup and configure their BIS.

Usually the network detects the different BlackBerry and prompts the user to respond whether to switch the PIN. Either that didn't happen in your case, or you didn't know what it was and responded no.

At any rate, either find the AT&T website for BIS, or call AT&T, and change the PIN number to the PIN for the new BlackBerry.

People are helping you. Why do you have to use such language?

Log in to the AT&T BIS from a computer. http://att.blackberry.com/

And use the "Change Device" function.

Then follow the steps in the stickied thread.

Last time. Either follow the link Motorcycle Mama posted above for you and change the device in your BIS, or call AT&T and ask customer service to do it. If you do it yourself, look for a button or link to re-send service books, which may be unnecessary but won't hurt.

We are telling you the same thing. She gave you the URL for the website to change your device in BIS.

Check which device is associated with your BIS. If it's the old one, change it. The service books will probably be sent when you do, but if not you can select to send them.

If you find that your new BlackBerry is already associated with the BIS and you don't need to change it, then resend service books. That will give you the browser, your email, etc.

I said last time because I'm repeating myself and I don't know how to say it any different.

One .. more ... time.

Log in to the AT&T BIS from a computer. http://att.blackberry.com/

And use the "Change Device" function.

And while you are are there, click Help and click Send Service Books.

Once you have done that, you may STILL have to load the Service Books manually because AT&T does NOT carry the Storm so it's DIFFERENT than your previous device.

I did mess up. I missed Storm AND AT&T.

I believe the thread Motorcycle Mama is referring to is http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-t-mobile.html.

You do need to associate the new BlackBerry with your BIS, but getting the service books isn't as simple as I stated it.

Ok here is the deal.
1. - go to http://att.blackberry.com/
2. - if you have an account log in. if you don't create one (with your 9700 info)
3. - once created log out and back in and go to "change device" option. youll simply need to change the PIN number to the new device (Storm).
4. - Once that is done go to Settings>Advanced Setting>TCP/IP and change your APN information.
APN: wap.cingular
UserName: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1
5. - pull ur battery and wait the long ass time it takes to reload
6. - never visit this site again as there are others that have better information like CRACKBERRY.COM (for example the AT&T Service Books)

P.S - thats the reason i never came back to this site!

STORMwatcher, I'm sorry I yelled at you. I'm the one that choked. I totally went blank on the fact you were talking about a Storm ON AT&T. I'm embarrased.
