Default Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Media Manager

Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Media Manager
After hours of blundering about, I have just managed to get rid of this infuriating message, which caused an endless loop using up 100% of processing power.
The clue to this problem on my pc was that two processes, one called msieexec.exe and the other called agent.exe started running. The first is the Windows software installer and the second is a Macromedia application associated with their Software Manager utility, which comes bundled with applications such as Roxio and which is supposed to keep them updated. Although it looks from Processes in Task Manager as though it is msieexec.exe which is causing the problem – because it was occupying most of the cpu – the root cause seems to be that agent.exe is repeatedly firing up msieexec.exe for a reason which I never fathomed.
Anyway, I decided that I would remove all instances of Roxio and Sonic and also Software Manager, since I had no use for them, and this has done the trick (and has generally speeded up my pc, which is a very big bonus).
You need to buy yourself some time by temporarily disabling mseieexec.exe as described elsewhere, then removing Roxio and Sonic (which I did by painstakingly deleting the applications and associated files and registry keys, also as described elsewhere). I then uninstalled Software Manager. I couldn’t find the uninstaller or the files on my pc, but I did find the uninstaller on the Macromedia site, which I loaded and ran. I am not allowed to supply the URL on this forum but it is on the support dot installshield dot com site and is called SoftwareManagerUninstall dot exe
At that point, my problem vanished.
Good luck.

Default Media Manager/Media Sync

I just installed the Desktop Manager (4.7) because there a couple of ringtones I want to put on my BB that are on my PC. When I go to the Media application, I can choose the Media Sync buy not the Media Manager. Sync is worthless on this machine as I don't have ITunes on it. I just want to drop in a couple of small MP3 files.

Have unistalled and reinstalled several times

Suggestions?

I don't use Roxio with DM. I turn on Mass Storage Mode and then connect the device to the PC. This will assign the device a new drive letter. Then I use windows explorer to add files to my device.

Default Thanks--Next question

Do I need to have an SD card or can it go to the device's memory?
