Default What SQL 2008 features BES 5 needs

Please Login to Remove!

I'll start with a clean server with BES and SQL 2008. What features from SQL I need to install for BES 5. Do I need SQL Integration service and Reporting service? I do want to run BES report. We have a SQL server dedicated for reporting. Can I set BES to use it for reporting? I can't find any BES 5 documents for SQL requirements and using other SQL server for reporting. Any link to the KB or article or white paper will be fine too.

Thanks in advance.

BES only needs the basic SQL functionality. No SQL integration or reporting services needed.

You can create a second instance of SQL wich will be independant of other intances.

No reboot required to do either.

If I need to run BES built in report do I need SQL reporting service? Assuming I don't want to use another SQL server for reporting service?

Thanks.

You don't need SQL Reporting Services to run the BES reports.
