Thumbs up BBLight Setup

Please Login to Remove!

Awesome apps! I OTA all of them with no problems. The BBLight feature is probably the most confusion but with a little practice you can figure out how to set the app to shutoff after a period of time.

Enable the app for "On Time of Day" and then you will be able to manipulate the duration (in minutes). I then de-selected the "On Time of Day" feature and currently have enabled "On User Activity" and "On Remove Holster."

All the apps are great, must have!

Unhappy bb Weather - again

There seems to be loads of us having trouble with bbweather and, despite all the replies in this forum, nothing that seems to deal specifically with the issue. I had the same problem with Pocketday xxx8211; eventually got the stocks to work, but never the weather. Pocketday support just gave up after a while.

Before I give up entirely is there anyone out there who has managed to get bbweather to work who meets most of the following conditions (these seem to be the ones which appear to cause the most difficulties most often, if you read through this thread.)
  • Lives outside the States
  • Uses a 7100
  • Isn't on a BES
  • Has applied all the recommended browser settings.
  • Gets a 'can't find a service book entry for IPPP (when it is there and active but
MDS proxy is enabled)

and/or
  • Gets a 'could not open tunnel xxx8211; failed' if they disable MDS proxy
I think that about covers it. Anyone got any ideas? If you have - PLEASE tell us how you did it.

Just realised I should have said this - if I've just been dumb and the answer is here then apologies to all. It'd be really good if you could let me know what it is though...cheers.

Some users are getting an error message that says:

Uncaught exception: Process BB Today (168) killed due to message queue overflow.

Anyone know what this means?

Thank!

Default Enhancement requests

- proxy authentication support (either by saving the credentials or passing the prompt to the user)
- Possibility for lookup of Location ID, either via internal function or external small tool
-to keep data traffic low I would like to be able to increase the refresh interval higher than possible now.
- additional different look (with less details) for the forecast...similar to bbtodaz
- different languagesupport (I could help you with some languages if needed)

Again thanks for the work
Has there been any progress on this wish list? I couldn't agree more with the above wishlist. Especially the one for proxy support. Right now, I cannot save my credentials for proxy anywhere so I constantly get Expecting Element Error. I have tried the disable MDS and disable Firewall options but this does not help.

Our BES admins have forced proxy authentication so all of our browsing is logged to our proxy server.

I want to add one more enhancement request to the bbtoday weather plugin. I want it to support the Celsius or Fahrenheit. Right now, it only supportsF while bbweather supports both.

Thanks!

bbCorrector - Free Spell Checking powered by Google
I have written a new server for bbCorrector. (open source free spell checking)

Spelling Results are provided by Google (same results provided by the Google Toolbar) which also enabled me to provide spelling in 11 languages.

Also written in support for custom dictionaries.

If you are already using bbCorrector you do not need to reinstall it, simply point it to the new server URL (either HTTP, or the HTTPS proxy) to begin taking advantage of the better spelling results provided by Google. To take advantage of other features create a free account to change your language settings and edit your custom dictionary.

Complete directions at:

Let me know how it goes!

I didn't write or modify the bbCorrector client, I may not be able to help with certain client issues.

[UPDATE] tateu has written an update to the bbCorrector client so it works properly with 4.0.2 and later handheld software. Please be sure to upgrade to this client if you have the 4.0.2 or later.
I tried the updated BBCorrector (above) installed it, click on the icon, and it says it is missing a module..."Error Starting BBCorrector: Class 'org.w3c.dom.Document' not found.

HELP!

Default java.lang.Error

While viewing my BBToday screen I press any key, the BBerry home page appears (with the application icons) and I get the following error:

Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error

I want to use the home page shortcuts (M for mail, C for compose) while viewing the today page, but every time hit those keys, it errors out.

Does this happen to anyone else? If so, is there a solution to this problem?

Hello Guys,
This thread says that the download should include the source code as well, but it is not included in the zip file. I wanted to take a look at the source code for the BBLight, anybody actually know where I can get it from ???
Thanks in advance,
Gaston

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I just tried the over the air for today and weather on my 7130c and they both freeze up constantly. I am missing the today screen and aim too.

Default BBWeather / BBToday - BES - 7250

This may seem like a PITA for some but I'm new to BB and not a power user and all I want is my friking weather to work! Can someone, anyone, provide simple step-by-step instructions of what to do to make this damn stuff work????
  • I am using a 7250 and on my corporate BES. I have a good rapport with the tech guy running it so if BES changes are needed all I have to do is ask.
  • I want to run BBToday 1.5 or at the very least BBWeather 0.74.
  • I go to the "over the air" download section and install to my BB.
  • Using BBToday as an example I go to the weather settings and disable MDS proxy.
  • I then get the "Unable to open a connection" error. The fix appears to be "disable firewall". What the heck does this mean? There are lots of settings on my BB but they are all set to "allow" or "prompt". What exactly do I have to do?
  • My IT guy got past that error on his device but does not know how. Now he gets the lovely "DNS" error. Again, what the heck are we looking for here?

Help, please. I just want to know if it's going to rain tomorrow before I go to the beach!

Default New Error code in BBweather: No weather profile selected

Cbeyond-7250

Have been unable to find anyone with this error code in BBweather: "No weather profile selected"

Then it locks up.

Any thoughts?

You have to put in your location ID which is the zip code for the location that you want the weather. Then give the description any name that you wish. It should work then. At that point, click update now or forecast and it should display the weather for that zip code.

Hope this helps.
