Default Weirdest problem...if device is locked, Mass Storage doesn't work

Please Login to Remove!

Yeah...if my Blackberry keypad is locked and I plug it in via USB, then I cannot open the drive in Windows. I get the "Please insert..." message from Windows. The minute I unlock it and plug it back in, works perfect.

Has anyone seen this? Yes, I did format the card prior to using it. Everything works fine as long as my keypad is not locked when I plug the device in to the USB port...

True, part of RIM security on the device.

Isn't it nice to know that if your device is lost or stolen while locked, nobody can get at your data?

Well, it isn't a rocket science to press * then GREEN. :D He is talking about keylock. Unless there is a way to put your BB into Keylock, and then require a passcode to unlock it?

Yes, there is a way to lock the device to require a password to unlock it.

Hmm, so I don't have a password, and yet it enforces the same security policy as it would if I did have a password? That doesn't seem like a good design, but no big deal.

Unlock the keyboard when plugging in to USB, no big deal I guess.

Guess some folks aren't that concerned about security.
