Writing to see if it is possible to get the T-mobile curve unlock it to use on the Cingular network and still be able to utilize the WiFi option?

Would like to be able to reduce my monthly phone bill and think this might be an option because most of my phone calls occur where I have a wifi connection.

Any advice or suggestions would be wonderful.

First, I'm not even sure if the AT&T network is capable if UMA calling. But even if it were, WiFi calls without TMo's HotSpots@home plan still use the minutes in your 'bucket'. (Even on TMo) It's not the WiFi or the phone itself that makes the calls free. It's the $19.99 add on from TMo makes it 'unlimited' WiFi calling.

Unless you have some other means of using VOiP all you'll be doing is unlocking a phone and using it on AT&T. And paying more for a BB plan.

The 8320 works great on AT&T. I got sick of the UMA "issues" and switched to AT&T for a better signal so I wouldn't need UMA. Works great, and Wifi works fine as well.

Unless, of course, you want to take advantage of the cost savings (particularly internationally) that UMA and H@H have to offer. Which we use ALL the time.

I wouldn't have a another source of VOIP so that feature would not work for me on the ATT network. The browsing on WIFI is not that big of an issue for me... so I probably will just sit tight at the moment.
