Great app!! Worked fine on my 7780!
But how to use the BBtoday as default screensaver? I have disabled the standby screen option, but after several minutes the screen will still go back to the original status??

I agree this is very nice program. Sorry I've missed who the program author is but if they are monitoring this thread.. how about adding a free memory count to the battery and signal strength plugin.. Memory is starting to be a concern since upgrading to 4.0 on my 7280.

What i want to know guys is if putting the weather channel ON all the time does it continuesly "ping" the data from the web page .. cause if so this would cause a problem to the fact that based on Rogers contract we are allowed to download a certain amount of megs before they start to charge ...

Imagine 500 Blackberries from an enterprise continualy downloading from web page .. the bill at the end would be a killer ... I don't think my boss would approve ...

I just installed the App. It worked for a while, then my screen went to the Nextel banner and I could never get the screen back. I tried hard and soft boots. As soon as the unit rebooted it went to the Nextel banner and I could not see anything else. I also tried two uninstall/reinstall.

I am using a Blackberry 7520 running OS 4.0

Any suggestions? I really liked it for the few minutes it was working.

Thank you!!

I've had the exact same problem (same phone and os), except bbtoday NEVER worked, just the banner as soon as it rebooted. It sounds like a cool app. Anyone know what I can do to get it working?

For what it's worth, I have had trouble with some other after market apps on my 7520. I worked with a couple of software vendors to track down and resolve the issues. It seems that there is something different between the 7520 and the older 7510. It must be hardware because they didn't have any trouble with other units running OS 4.0.

If anyone knows how to make the bbtoday work on a 7520, I would really appreciate the info. It looks like a really cool app.

Anyone know how to contact the programmer directly?

Thanks!!

Thumbs down Max connections opened

I have a 7520 and version 1.5 of BBTODAY and it works GREAT. It wouldn't connect to the weather wep page to find my local number but I was able to find it manually on my pc without too much trouble. The problem I have is I keep getting an error after a few hours that says "Max Connections Opened". This is through Nextel and I'm guessing since I see no posts with the same error it could be a Nextel thing, but can anyone help with this? The only way to get back on is to pull the battery. Shutting down with software , the button, or turnng off the radio doesn't work unless I do it for at least 30 minutes. It's driving me crazy.

I installed the latest version of OS 4 from Rogers on my 7100t, as was suggested to me. Everything works fine except the times are wrong in BBToday - right now BBToday says its 1:14 AM, and the BlackBerry says it's 8:14 PM. Weird.

Hey deadstick,
I noticed that with the appointment reminders (calendar) items on the Today screen do not show up in 24hr time formet even though my Calendar & phone settings are set up in this fasion. I had already changed the general date & time format for the 'clock' function on the Today screen and that part of it functions great.
Is there any way to change the displayed time format for appiontments to 24hr?

Thanks,

Dave

I read through this thread but didn't see my question about the weather. I am a new BB owner so this may be something very simple.

On the weather screen and the stock screen it shows "Protocol not found:null"?
I have a BB 7750 through Verizon and OS 4.0 loaded.

I also use the BWC if that matters. Any help would be appreicated.

make sure you don't have some GMT timezone format selected in the Preferences for the Clock applet. us right-coasters are GMT - 0500...

The latest version may need your handheld to be 4.0.

It works for me. 7100t, Version 1.5, OS 4.0 Set TCP to wap.voicestream.com left paswword blank. Also filled in US ZIP code, and my stocks. I had to press "update now" for them to refresh and work.

Great application!

I read in anopther forum that TMo has open the ports again... can anyone confirm?
The exact same thing happened to me as well. I was told that it started when TMO opened up the ports.

I have the same Time Zone Problem. The Today clock is showing GMT. The Date/Time preferences under the main options are set to GMT -7 Arizona. Under the Today preferences, it looks like the olny options are formatting. I tried inserting -0700, -7, and GMT - 0700. Nothing worked yet.
