Dunno. I believe T-Mobile will watch RIM and Blackberry in Court on Feb 24th. Maybe T-Mobile will not launch 8700 if Court order shut down.

I just searched google for pics....

They were on UK pages, but I wonder if this will be the same one the USA is getting.

here is another

UK must have good prices on this stuff, only $330 - with no contract!

Couldn't you just import one from the UK and it would work fine in the US?

Right, thanks! And if you look at that, it looks to be ~$261 according to today's currency rates.

http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/co...submit=Convert

I'm having someone in the UK run over to a TMO store to find out whether it is unlocked for US usage and whether the £150 price is purchasing without contract.

I'd be curious to see what the no contract price would be!! Please let us know what you find out!!

It's possible that it's the same unit but for the charger plug, no?

Actually I just tried to buy one (thanks for the links) but it looks like, at least on the website, you have to pick a plan. Looks like they don't offer it w/o a plan on the site. Good news though, the 140 pound price is the *most* expensive they sell it for (i.e with the cheapest plan). There are several plan options which get you the phone for free 8)

Yes, but you can easily just head over to a cingular store or TMO store and pick up a blackberry 120V charger OR head over to your closest electronics supply store and buy one of those transformer/pin changer devices.

Do you think T-Mobile will launch 8700? Is it true? I think They only have MDA and BB7105. I asked T-Mobile about 8700. They said that's BB7105. HUH

Nobody knows for sure when TMO will come out with the 8700. It's long been rumoured, just like the Sidekick III. And the sales person you spoke with is probably just confused. The 7105 is the funky SureType phone, not a full sized BB.

Here's a question if anybody could answer... If I purchase a 8700g from UK, import it, will it be possible to register the IMEI with TMO US for BIS service?

Considering anyone here with a TMO sales rep would be able to tell you an approximate time frame for the release, that's not exactly what one would consider a 'rumor'. Late March was the latest time frame I was given by our corporate rep (we have a rather LARGE account with TMO).
