I am a very sound sleeper and sometimes 1 minute of my alarm is not enough to wake me up. With an alarm that rings until I take an action (e.g., MyAlarm) it's not uncommon for the alarm to take about 5 minutes to wake me up. In the couple of days I've been trying BBSmart Alarms, I generally haven't woken up until the 3rd or 4th time it's gone off.

I'm also a very sound sleeper, so I totally understand. However, this program shouldn't be an issue in terms of how long the alarm goes off. Here's a coule of ideas ... 1) When you set an alarm, you can choose to repeat "forever".
2) Take a long song that you know is able to wake you up. Copy it to your BB as a ringtone. You can also choose to repeat multiple times.

How many users are actually going to download alarm tones and set them up on their phone? I have, but lot's of people wouldn't.
An application -especially one you pay for- should be ready to use straight out of the box. If the user has to download sound files and set them up just to get the program to work initially, the hassle wouldn't be worth it. However, when the program is updated to access profile sounds, eliminating the included 4 sample tones is an option. My point is that the program needs some sounds to get users started.

Both good points, John Q, and haephaestus.
I think a user who downloads an alarm and pays for it, would likely also download certain ringtones to awaken him if the default ones weren't in their liking. But I do see your point, products that work well "out of the box" are nice to have.
In that light... Neil...and other users, here are a few good ringtones, some loud. If you want to use any, have at them. The ones ending in "LOUD" are loud.

I already have the alarm set to repeat forever. But when I initially set this option, I was expecting the alarm to repeat forever, not the process of ringing X times and then snoozing.
And unfortunately the sound that works best as an alarm is only available in a clip of about 20 seconds.

Fair enough. I agree that some tunes should come bundled, especially for an alarm app, and I wouldn't even mind if they were decent useful alarms. If I were to have the option to uninstall the bundled alarms I likely won't use, then maybe that's a decent compromise. Great app but I did blink a little when I saw it weighing in at 500k or so.

For some reason, I find this program tends to wake me faster than my alarm clock. I think that's because I know I have to rush to unlock it before it wakes my wife, so this "alarm" requires more alertness in general. (With a conventional alarm clock, I have the option to roll over and press the snooze bar - a few times.)
I should have tested the "repeat forever" setting before mentioning it. The feature to repeat forever definitely shouldn't go into snooze automatically. Expecting it to repeat forever gives us a false sense of security. I hope that his bug is addressed soon.

I just think that a selected Mp3 file of your choice should play infinite (The whole song if need be), until you execute whatever options you set up for your specific alarm.
I personally like your alarm over the last two that i used " Mobylo & MyAlarm ", in many aspects that are too many to name but congratulations on taking out the time, to actually direct your team to build such a well thought out application.
I bought it immediately and there were simply no problems whatsoever after install or selecting my own audio files. Also, the many ways it can be customized and the default alarm option settings are a nice touch too.
Thanks again,
and well looking forward to all the ideas you have mentioned for this product.
-Ed.
P.S. I know there is an update today so don't think i forgot about that, lol.

dshipmon,
Click on the link... you will be taken to three directories in which the ringtones are located. You might best go there from your BB browser, or your PC, either way.
