2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

I can't find this in Vista. Is that an XP location?

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Make sure you're going to common files.

I don't see it there.

I have DM installed, I installed the Storm's update 3 times with resets for it.

Did you double click on the .exe file to install it on your PC?

trying to follow the threads, but not sure what the problem might be....

are you running x64 or just the 32-bit vista ? if x64, there are 2 Program Files folders, try looking in the one labeled x86....

if not or if it's just not there, i suggest removing all bb software from your system, then if you are comfy with a registry cleaner, use one to clean out junk & obsolete registry entries. then install DM and your OS....personally, i use regsupreme/jv16 powertools, but this is pay software.

Ok, I will try that. I'm using Vista64 and I have checked both the Programs and the Programs (x86) folders.

Runs off to uninstall. I might also try my brother's XP machine.

You could do a search of your C: drive for vendor.xml.

I did, no joy on finding that file.

I did find this:

But there is no called Vender or Loader.

I tried uninstalling everything, now it says my USB hub failed when I plug the Storm in, but works fine for other electronic items. Is there a specific driver I can DL and install. Last time, I let the computer do it, but it isn't working this time.

Grrrrr....This is going to hell in a handbasket.

In the picture above you're in Program Files/Research In Motion. You need to be in Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion...

I know, but if you look above in a earlier post, I am in the described folder and yet none of the files that the instructions say will be there are there. That is the only blackberry folder that came up in a search.

Hey guys I installed the new release from the Telus website, I believe its the same one as above. Its been working ok for the past few days. I havent really noticed a huge change but it is a tad bit faster. The issue i'm having is my battery all of the sudden is dying mid day just on standby. It used to go a full day. Is this a software glitch? I havent changed any of my settings from before or after. Any insight would be appreciated

Ok, finally got it. You can only use XP to update the OS. I tried with two different Vista64 systems and neither worked.

Next problem is Appworld and being IE only.

You don't need to use your PC at all for AppWorld, you can do it directly from your BB Browser.

Not so; I use Vista x64 as well, no issues updating.
I've also updated on a Vista x86 machine as well as a Windows 7 RC x64 machine.

If you downloaded .132 to your PC and installed it, it will say that in DM. That's the OS that it wants to update.

Yes you will need to delete the vendor.xml file as it is not a Verizon released OS and you have a Verizon device.
