I upgraded to .97 and my phone qulity became crap. so I comletelt whiped my device and installed .77 again. That did,'t help, so I rolled it all the way back to 4.3 and I still had poor speaker quality. So I wiped it again and installed .97 again and the speaker quality is fine now. The OS seems more responsive and I get the hourglass a lot less now, but that could be because I did a complete wipe of the device this time.

So far, no noticeable problems with .97, and the phone does indeed seem faster.

So anyone have any idea why VZW pulled 4.5? I want to upgrade, I just don't feel comfortable doing it outside of the official carrier release.

What OS are you talking about that was pulled? This is a thread for the beta release of 4.5.0.97 for the 8330 Curve.

Default 4.5.0.97 on 8330

I installed the update and my free RAM almost doubled. I typically had anywhere between 22-24megs of free RAM. After installing 4.5.0.97, I usually keep 45megs free at boot. It will drop down to 39 after heavy usage but pull the battery and it's all back. The phone is more responsive, I am not experiencing the speakerphone issues. Sprint 8330.

I apologize if I'm in the wrong thread. I was referring to Verizon's site offering the official 4.5 for the 8330 and then pulling it.

working good so far. HTML works, got Docs to go (with update), and I CAN MMS/SMS just fine!!!

Speakerphone miniblast is still there but I will suffer with that with everything else being dead on!

I have not paired my Moto stereo BT headset to listen to music yet (makes a great iPod replacement!!!)...........

.97 ROCKS!

Just found it and will install soon. Will report back especially on the speaker blast (which I have all the time as well).

The "official" Verizon release was back up this morning. I also got a letter from them about the move to 4.5 so I am pretty sure that they won't pull it again. But, as I have said before, this is Verizon that we are talking about. For the link, go here http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html and click on the first link. Disregard the message that they have pulled it b/c it is still there and available for download.

Overall though, this is the fastest feeling version I have used - haven't tried GPS because I have given up on it with this phone.
I am having this browser problem as well but it doesn't really matter to me. I just set the browser to start of the "start" page and that seems to be working fine. Everytime I change the homepage, it will go there once and then it's like it goes back to the default VZW page. Somewhat annoying, but oh well, that's life...

Anyone using it on a BES?

I can't get my BES to activate it......... This BB has never been attached to the BES (BIS worked fine). Nothing special, just pushing corporate mail and calendar, nothing else. No security, no IT policies, nuttin.

Any thoughts?

How are you pushing corporate mail and calendar without BES?

Sorry about the confusing post.

I can't get it to connect to the BES. In BESadmin Just says activating..........

I WANT to connect it to the BES, it has never been connected to the BES, only to BIS pushing a gmail account to the phone.

Once it gets connected I will only be pushing mail and calendar. There are no security policies in place and the BES is working fine with the whole whopping ONE other BB (Pearl v 4.3) activated in the BES.

Loaded Saturday. Speakerblast is gone and not having the browser homepage issue several have reported. Free memory seems to be up a bit. No other differences found yet.

sounds like you don't have the correct internet plan on your phone. It needs to be specifically provisioned for use on a BES by your Provider. Just because it was working on the BIS doesn't mean it will work on the BES until you call them.
