I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the product Message Alerts from Webmessenger
"+mablackberry+"

It will allow you to set up very sophisticated rules based on SMS and/or email sender. I've used it for a long time and it works very well.

jc -- tried this on my 8300 and did not have your results. Actually, for a moment, I thought I did but I realized I was on the wrong profile.

When I switched to my "Normal" profile, I called myself (having made an exception for myself.) When I allowed caller ID to identify myself to the BB, I got the custom ringtone. When I called from a blocked number, it went back to the default ringtone for that profile.

Hmmmm.

I am a paramedic and our dispatcher has the capability to send dispatches to us via sms email address (mine is [email address]. I want to set up an exception so that I get a specific tone for the dispatches. The problem I am having is that all of the sudden for some reason the SMS that are arriving are now not coming from the sender's email address directly but rather a series of numbers like 000000019. The sender's email address is identified within the SMS where it is says FRM: and has the sender's email address. For this reason, I can't get the BB Curve to recognize the SMS as from a particular sender and respond appropriately to the profile/exception set up based on this post. Any suggestions from you gurus?
