You have to press pretty hard and keep rubbing it takes longer than you expect, but the logo will come off and there should not be any scratches after you are done.

Since I am a man of means and success [I have a penny and a sugar cube], I pondered doing the sugar cube or penny thing , but I looked at my phone with a jeweler's loupe and the logo looks like it's clear coated on. I also took note of some people saying that they scratched the Pearl's surface.

Truth be told, I don't mind the T-Mo logo. They have been a good company for me [plan price, tech support, signal] so I don't mind advertising for them.

Besides, when people ask me about the Pearl [happens a lot], I refer them to T-Mo. Way I see it, T-Mo owes me about six commissions for people I have had sign up with them. I keep looking in the mail for a check, none yet.

okay so I decied to take the Tmo logo off with a paperclip..NOT A GOOD IDEA!! I ended up scratching the phone up .. kinda bad Its not really scratched, it's just that the Tmo logo is not indented into the phone and looks like a dark gray. I would have just kept it the other way. Does anyone know where I can find that thin black vinyl so I could cover up my big error? Thanks

Go to a sign shop...ask them for a scrap of left over vinyl. They should give it to you.

Seems as though the difference is in where your Pearl was made. Im willing to bet that Mexican Pearls have the imprinted T-Mobile whilst the Canadian ones are simply painted on. Who wants to verify my theory?

1. Mine was imprinted and its from Mexico

Not sure why people bought into this removing logo nonsense, especially since so many people have screwed up their phones.

And recall my warranty exchange with my phone. The T-Mo rep said that the warranty exchange will be done, providing that my phone is a T-Mo branded phone, as indicated by the T-Mobile logo on the front of the phone.

So if it is gone, could be a problem or at least cause them to question you once they see the phone.

Yeah...I don't get what the purpose of removing it? Are you all unlocking your Pearls and don't want anyone to ever know that you got your Pearl by signing up with TMobile?

I don't see how possibly ruining your phone could be worth this.

To each his own I guess

has anyone else tried this with a Cingular Pearl? I'm thinking of maybe experimenting with nail polish remover... it works for some things, but not others.

any other input from Cingy Pearl owners?

uhhh look at the country it was made in. All the Pearls where made in one of two places. And all made by RIM, it doesnt matter the Carrier, only the factory it was made in.

Mexican Pearls scratch. Canadian Pearls rub right off.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Pearl: BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I think the best thing to do is just leave the 8100 alone, it will look a whole lot better... Lol
