No, you will need to download and install the previous OS to your PC and follow the same steps to install that version onto your device.

Has anyone heard a screeching sound randomly while on the phone?......that's not your wife. It real short and sounds like a smoke detector chirp. Haven't heard it before this OS.

Yes, I am getting the same thing. I am looking for the thread re: creating the hybrid OS. I think there was something in there about changing one of the files with an older one that worked and reloading the OS and the chirping stops. I will report back when I find it.

Check this out. I found the link for the hybrid OS. I tried just copying the file and running loader.exe, but it didn't see any changes. I am probably going to have to downgrade the OS and then re-upgrade in order to install the new radio code.

Thx to Sith_Apprentice for this link!

the old software won't install for downgrade. have to use desktop software. in my case though. that wouldn't work either. i ended up doing a wipeout and reinstall.

my phone never gets turned off. the blinking light was solid red. which went out when charged. must be a .160 thingy or something as no one seems to have the answer. if i turn the phone off now. yes it does the blinking green and solid green once full.

i have 169 back on. after a wipeout. before i did just upgrade and had problems. now i've down wipeout and everything seems kosher. battery even lasts longer. just be kewl to have that red light back. but turning phone if no bigger. it does reboot faster and turn on faster then before.

ok, having issues. vz 8330 esn wont upgrade. tried from win7 first, now fresh XP load diff machine.

jl_cmder'd the device (twice now)

installed the 169 from cell south and copied the CDMA file from .77. deleted vendor file

when i run desktop man it sees the .169, (also .138 and .77) and i select the .169 and it goes NEXT and then says no update for my device.

when i run the loader it simply says leave default or downgrade...

never had this not work unless i forgot to delete vendor...

I had to downgrade from this OS, it was just too buggy for me. The screeching can still be fixed by using the CDMA file from a previous OS.

You must not of installed it. When you downloaded it, did you double click on the .exe to install the OS to your PC. The Loader.exe file should be in the same location as the vendor.xml file. It's there for me.
