I usually just go to options->status but I did try ALT+ E A C E too. Alt-H didn't work for me...

I did the ALT + L G L G clear log and turned the logging off.
Mine started at around 16MB this morning and it's now 3:36 pm and I'm at 8MB. But, I am on the internet a lot, so would that bring the memory down?

Wirelessly posted (8310: BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
I'm apparently doing something wrong with the ALT+LGLG. Nothing is happening. Does this have to be done from a certain screen?

I do it from the home screen. Specifically:
Hold down ALT the entire time, while clicking LGLG

again, just to verify, this is how i should check free space? and if this is, how can i have so little (8MB) when others are in the teens or higher?

hey guys/gals, about to ask a stupid question (please do not get on me too much ). When checking my available memory....Is it just the first two numbers of the eight (in the "Status" section under "File Free") , that determines the amount? appreciate the time and help, thanks in advance......
regards...........

With a media card do your pictures automatically go to the media card? Or is there a setting somewhere I have to change?

As a way to free up more memory so memory leaks don't slow my phone down to a crawl. Who made you the thread police?

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I'm new to BB's. Got my Curve this past Tuesday.
I read this thread before I recieved it and now I just checked my phone.
Options> Status shows:
File Free: 19104191 bytes
File Total: 54919168 bytes
I only have a couple apps loaded. I cleared my log file(before recording the memory. And i have a 1gb card installed. The phone has been on since Wednesday without turning it off or restarting.. I just stick it on the charger every night except last night.

BB - Memory LAG
I have in my possession:
8300, 8310, 8800, 8703e, 8830
And 8310... is runs slowest out of all of them.
I tried to clear up the logs and free up more memory.
Application Switcher is slow and just subtle things are slow.
It annoys the heck out of me. I am going to switch over 8300 for several days as my primary and see.
One thing I might suggest to all is CLOSE -> Media application when you are not using it. This seems to clear up big chunk of memory.
If there is any other workaround or suggestion please post, b/c I would rather use my 8310 over 8300.

I got 26MB free on my 8310 and have not rebooted in weeks. I have no 3rd party software and in fact dumped PTT, Brickbreaker, etc.
