Sorry the way I worded the questions, I seemed stupider than I am. LOL. I meant, I see this 4.1 OS and 4.1 desktop manager software and what not and get confused on if they just meant the desktop software but I see the OS has changed so its a firmware and also the dekstop manager, both 4.1 right now right? Cingular 7100g phones are that way?

As well as this not connecting problem, im at work now, ill try installing the desktop manager before I plug the phone in, is that wise to wait to recognize the phone ones the desktop manager is in first?

Your PC cannot install the drivers for the BlackBerry unless Desktop Manager is installed, as thats when the drivers for the handheld are installed as well.

Ok I did the upgrade but dont see custom ring tones. It only shows in about that its blackberry 4.0.2.49.. is that wrong? Where do I go to get the exact upgrade i need?

you cant get the custom ringtones till this software is released to the general public its only available on the brand new 7100i currently read whole thread tto see what he is talking abount instead of assuming
