hahah ohhhh yea. i remember that. that was around 5-6 years ago where you had to go online to read the text message. i remember my girlfriend at the time had that and she said that it used airtime to text, but it didn't cost text messages. i thought it was the strangest thing in the world and delayed every response on her end by a minute or two lol. i eventually had to break up with her b/c i could not take her webtexting anymore...haha jk jk. we broke up for other reasons...

but yea, i do remember when you had to go on mobile web to check texting for sprint

Check it out:

Source:Buzz About CTIA with John Garcia. (04/09/2008)

Will asked: Over in the forums, there's a lot of discussion on MMS/ Picturemail for the Blackberry phones. Will Picturemail be available for the Blackberry line this summer too?

John Garcia : Yep.

I know it is not mms but it is a way to send the picture to a phone. Not everyone nows how to do it so I thought I would share it.

Does anyone know if you can set a password to lock your memory card? I have figured out how to lock the phone, but I have excel files on my memory card that I do not want anyone to get into if they got a hold of my phone.

Would an unlocked BB Curve be able to send MMS on the Sprint network?

No wouldnt matter its the network not the device. And what unlocked phone would you use? They dont allow other carriers devices on their network.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

"Unlocked" usually refers to GSM devices and GSM devices won't work on a CDMA network.

Some are saying that the Spring BB doesn't send MMS at all... but I have gotten it to work for sending to Sprint and AT&T users...but not to Verizon users.

Anyone have a new (phone#@____.com) to try for Verizon? I've tried @vzwpix/@vtext/@myvzw...everything.

A true MMS is just the phone number. So you arent sending MMS you are in fact sending an email and the vzwpx.com wont work on a BB on vzw

Default Mms

The only way I found is to send your pic to your [email address] email which sends it to your BB, and then forward to whomever (you put their phone number and send. Must have picture mail though

I just got off the ph with a Sprint BB rep and he said that Sprint just received MMS Picturemail servers for BB's. He was not sure when these would be up and running AND that he thought the servers and/or software (when they are up) still would not support Curves as far as MMS is concerned.

#1----this is frustrating that Sprint cannot support a device such as the Curve in respect to such an seemingly easy software design as sending media. when other carriers can and do. and that it has been around for some time now.
#2----In my dealings with Sprint cust serv reps in the past I've found that I get different answers to the same troubleshooting question. I guess the left hand of Sprint does not always know what the right is doing. Or they just know when I call and give me diff answers to make me insane.

Given this, I'm not sure what to believe. Except that I cannot send media via BB with Sprint. This I do know...

anyone know if there is a third party company that can get MMS to work on sprint?

I herd that most companies use third party companies to use MMS. Most companies do not have the technology within there company and have to outsource it.

So can we skip right over sprints retarded NON MMS and use some kind of third party company or app?

I don't know about the other sprint users but this is almost enough to make me want to switch to another company!!! I mean Nextel can do it and it is the same company
