Haha no, missed that! Thanks!
But seriously, I don't mind one person who wants to spread lies, but all of pinstack essentially does since their administration sees no problem with it.
By the way I messaged one of their mods asking for clairification of what the issue was. The response was
Quote:
The discussion concerns the claims and counter claims that have been made and which are correct and which are not. Until the claims made can be verified, the membership doesn't need to see the them. Please be patient and it will all work out. If you have any further concerns about this please address them to our senior administrator, hayden.
|
I contacted hayden last night and asked that if this is the case, both sides should be "hidden" until they determine what's correct. No reply yet.
If there's no reply in a couple days, I'll just present a nice letter for anyone that enters my site from pinstack letting them know what's up.

I assume in their 'verification process' they will at some point contact the business in question...BBExtras...which is you...so one way or another you should be hearing from them. If they don't at least contact you, then it smells a little 'fishy' to me. Either way, your idea of putting a letter up on your site guaranteeing your work or whatever, that's all most people need to see.

I'm not holding my breath. My gut tells me it's total BS. Like I said, they get the benefit of a couple days.

Hey Perfect, while we're at it, I see your L Dimension theme is available for the 8800, is that ok with OS ver 4.2.1?
And the Tiger Theme, only for the 8100? Or am I missing the model listing?

All themes are good on 8800, 8300, and 8100, except Today+ which is just 8300, 8800. All themes are built for the lowest OS of that device (ie 4.2.0 for 8100, 4.2.1 for 8800 and 4.2.2 for 8300)

Thanks, I like your work.
Just FYI, post those models #s in your descriptions more clearly. Us 'Bama boys can be slow at times, the others might want to know also.

I'm actually working on it now. I avoided putting it outside of the descriptions - where I can say 8800 series - to avoid the inevitable "will this work on an 8310/8320/8820/8130/8120?" Oh well, guess I can't win em all

Nope just an include on the index page when the referrer is from pinstack. That way the link at the bottom will continue to the requested page.

Weird, I just clicked on your link on your sig above and didn't go straight to your page but instead to the page that pinstack people are supposed to see.

And a reply

Peter,
I'm very sorry about the late reply to your PM.
I've hidden the one post I could find on this matter till its resolved. At this point no judgment should be seen in threads on this matter thus you may send me links to other related posts if they do exist.
We like to be 100% certain of these matters, we are awaiting reply from RIM at which point you will be notified. They will be reviewing your site and themes. If all is well this should be a positive event for you.
This process serves to protect our members - including you. You've not been "attacked" or singled out as this is standard procedure for any post that raises Information Security concerns.
Best,
Hayden James

sorry, I still think that is a bogus explanation. I think the theme builders on the site that are mods don't want your site up.

Agreed. A forum's moderators make-or-break the forum's popularity.
Since observing one of Pinstack's moderators/founders spamming over at Howard Forums, I've avoided the site. My recollection was that the person in question was quite rude to me when I pointed out their behaviour--to the extent that they began posting rude replies to my posts in unrelated threads.
I have neither the time nor the inclination to involve myself with such an unprofessional site. And therefore never recommend it to anyone looking for detailed information on Blackberry.
