Battery pull has nothing to do with it. The pin is already registered in the BIS system to another email account. That account needs to be cancelled and the pin released so you can add it to your account. You may have to call back to Vodafone and explain it to them better.

I agree. I guess I shall do it in the morning. Its times like this where I wish the entire BB system wasn't so needlessly complicated.

eh, if it were not complicated, you'd just be plugging your BB in and receiving someone else's email through your BB and then coming here wanting to know how that was happening. Hence it won't let you register your PIN twice.

It is also called security.

Finally figured out the problem. This curve is apparently an APN locked device which can only be used on T-Mobile germany for data services while voice is fully unlocked. Also, it is an enterprise only device which has somehow been hard wired into the flash rom of the device. There is no way to use BIS on this, only BES.

Sending mine back to the guy i bought it from for a full refund.

So just a word of warning, if you guys come across a cheap brand new 8300 which is unlocked, try and steer clear of the t-mobile germany handsets

No, it's just a device which still has the pin registered under another account. Happens with many used BB's and can be difficult to unregister, depending on the carriers involved. It also sounds like it may have an IT policy on it.

Wirelessly posted (8320 Curve: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Ihave a simular problem with one of my berries. This is why I bought an 8800 so I can solve this problem.

I have the same thing on one of mine, the little red lock on the firewall. The apn by default comes to att's as it is their unlocked phone. I cannot use many third party applications as it is apparently blocked my firewall policy. There is no it policyon mine, I have already checked and did the blank policy thing in DM. The firewall is somehow locked and I have no idea how to change. If I get thedevice rom flashed to tmo, will that fix this problem??
