I too have the same problem with my Bold 9000. I have taken it off and gone back to V5 Desktop Manager. Why can't they test software before it is released to cause mayhem...

maybe their goal is to get people to stop storing their media on internal memory and to use a media card.

Plug in the device - Select Device Options right on the front there - select Media -and there is a drop down menu half way down the page where you can select Internal Media as opposed to your media card... it should then save that to your computer. See the print screen...
I haven't messed around enough with this new program yet - but I believe everything is still there... just moved around.

Well at least you can launch it!
I'm not even able to get it open, have done all the usual trouble shooting tricks, but no dice anyone else got it working on Win7 32bit?

Yes, many others have.
Maybe you can help by explaining exactly what you're seeing.

Anyone know if you are still able to Stop sending messages to the BB when it is connected via USB?
The option is easy to find in 5.x but I am not seeing it in 6.
Thanks

I have installed DM 6 on Vista 32-bit successfully, and most seems to work as expected. Several questions however.
1. I installed DM 6 on Aug 12, and have backed up and synced my 9700 each day since. However, the home screen continues to indicate that my "last" sync and backup were on Aug 12th. Annoying.
2. IN previous versions of DM, backup inserted the backup date into the file name (ie. my last backup finle under DM 5 was called "AutoBackup-(2010-08-11).ipd".
DM 6 names the files "Blackberry Bold 9700-x.ipd". Anyone have a workaround where the date is part of the backup file name?
Thanks!

The font of mine says I have never backed it up but I have multiple times... while annoying, yes... thankfully, not a critical problem.
I just renamed the backup files and added the date. I was actually glad they added the pin as we have multiple BB's in the home so adding the pin was helpful. The date is also in the "date modified" column on the computer if you don't want to add the date yourself.

The problem I'm getting when I try and launch is:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Rim.Desktop.exe
Application Version: 6.0.0.40
Application Timestamp: 4c58acef
Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16385
Fault Module Timestamp: 4a5bdaae
Exception Code: e0434f4d
Exception Offset: 00009617
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48

I'm running win7 32bit, I uninstalled BBDM 5 and installed 6.0 clean, I've uninstalled a couple of times, each with re-boots in between. no dice :(

I have the same problem, without that I go back to 5, DM is useless to me otherwise, don't want email there when plugged in.

6.0 loaded good for me , backed up and loaded updates, then crashed when it tried to restore settings from a backup. I tried many times to restore from a backup, but wouldnt work. I uninstalled 6.0 by starting to load it, and remove or repair was an option. Then reloaded 5.0 and restored my files. 6.0 seems to continually have problems.

[QUOTE=Second issue is I have a "add-in" called EWallet and the automatic sync does not sync the add-in. Is there any way to have the add-in included in the automtic sync?[/QUOTE]
I'm now lost... how do we sync add-ins, such as eWallet?
When I had upgraded from DM 5.0 to 6.0 I had the ption, but now on a totally new PC, where I installed directly 6.0, the option of add-ins does not exist.

Has it been determined that if Office 2010 is installed in 32b mode (even on a 64 bit machine) that it works with DM6?

I have 32 bit Office 2010 on a 32 bit machine and it's working fine with the new BD6.0. 6.0 fixed the problems with sync I was having with 5.0.

incredible that Rim does not have a 64 bit fix - there is functionality in Outlook 2010 that is very useful for our business. I tried Companionlink - it didnt work so I wasted time and money there. I am going to gently move everyone in the company to iPhones as we have waited for months now for a fix.

I ordered a 64 bit computer yesterday and I will install 64 bit Office... I was going to use CompanionLink to help sync the BB as I have read it does work. Can you let us know why CompanionLink did not work?

Not keen on this Desktop Manager - loses the ability to choose which email folders are forwarded to the BB..
Anyone know where I can get the 5.X version for a reinstall please
