New user to blackberry and applications. I have downloaded, installed and even used the Plasmik 4.1 software. I have also downloaded some other themes by other users that come with the alx theme reader file. The one I played with and created exported to an alx ext. My device (7100g) shows in Options/apps that I have the theme reader but I don't see it under applications (where memo and calc, etc. are). I also can't access any of the other themes that say they loaded. The only ones I can see under themes are the ones you've made. Any advice?

Just my 2 cents. I started the process of adding these themes two days ago. I kept getting the whole Black and White screen thing. I reset my 7290 and wiped everything out. THEN I RE-READ THIS THREAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I learned the following.....
1. Load ALL the themes listed, some themes need other ones to work.
2. CHECK THE THEMES ON YOUR BB BEFORE FREAKING OUT- I didnt even check to see if I could change the themes before I freaked and reset my BB.
3. Turn off and turn on BB
Thanks for your information here and if we would only READ and FOLLOW instructions, we wouldnt have to post 1000 duplicate posts.
Thanks JIBI, my 7290 looks and works great.

Possible related question. I am using an unlocked AT&T/Cingular BB 7290 (on a T-Mobile service) and when I boot it up I see the splash screen that says AT&T. Is there anyway that I can change that splash screen? I searched the forums but couldnt find an answer. Thanks

To use those themes, you need OS 4.1.

EDIT - forgot to mention, i'm on a 7130e blackberry with Verizon...

reinstall your OS from scratch. you may want to employ JavaLoader.

for you OS 4.1 users, the key thing to remember is listed in the subject: OS 4.0 ONLY!

do NOT install these themes if you have OS 4.1!

Question about a theme....

I tried to use the Pixelistic theme that came with the 4.1 upgrade (I'm a 7520-er). While the theme looks snazzy and all, I can't see, from my home screen, how many unread messages I have. It's not as though the icon and the number are hard to read - they're just gone. Is there any way to work around this? Or are there any 7520-compatible alternative themes?

Default Help Please!

I downloaded the large icon theme ota to my 7105t. It downloaded just fine, but when I go to settings-theme-default (Large Icon), the only option I get is to close. There is no option to activate.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Default T-mobile theme for 4.1?

I grew fond of the "T-Mobile" theme on my 7100 and just upgraded to an 8700. Love it, but is there any way to use the icons from the old T-Mobile theme? I tried the OTA from the first page of this thread (unsure if the "4.0 only" referred to the OTA or not, gave it a try); it installed, listed T-Mobile as a theme, but no option to activate it.

Is there any way to use that theme on an 8700/4.1?

(FWIW, it's the icons I like, not the subfolder structure. Is there any way to extract the graphics of the old icons and create a new theme?)

Thanks,

--Andrew

To use the O2 theme on the 7200 series handhelds, you must first install the Default List theme. I believe thats all of the requirements, but if all else fails, simply install until the others work.
I am trying to install the O2 7100 theme on my 7105t OTA and get the following error: "HTTP Error 500: Internal Error Server Error. This could be caused by a problem with the gateway,a problem with the destination server, or a problem with the page itself. Please try loading a different page. What can I do to get this theme? Thanks.
