I think it worked. It gives me the option to send the meeting request with either my @gmail account or @tmo.blackberry.net account.

Thanks John!

yes, I'd go to the TMo site and resend your service books for your email account.

got an unlocked T-Mobile BB8320, OS version .171. It doesn't have BB Internet Service but only Enterprise Service, I could not add my POP email address. This can be fixed if I upgrade to .180 version? someones can help?

you may need to contact your BES Admins to check if this is a restriction issue; nevertheless, upgrading is a better-than-good option on the side

If you got it USED and unlocked, then you may need to remove the IT policy that was left on the device. And that will involve wiping the device and loading a new OS on it anyways, so it's a good time to goto .175 or .180.

I had a problem making opera mini work after upgrading to 180. the beta worked fine with 175 when i first got my curve this week, however even now no beta versoins for 4 will work on 180.

Should I try and go back to 175 or reload 180 and wipe everything off my current BB? I dont have much on it at all, so i dont mind.

If i should reload anything, how would I do it?

First check your APN settings, doing an OS upgrade removes the "wap.voicestream.com" entry.

You probably need to get a new BlackBerry.alx file after you installed the .180 software on your PC. When you install a new version of BlackBerry device software, it will make a new folder with a new BlackBerry.alx file, this file needs to have the vendor lines removed from the themes you would like added, I think if you look around on the board here or at the top of this thread there is a link to the .180 alx file pre-modified to install all vendor themes.

Default Wi-Fi only appears to resolve call drops

I am having the same dropping of calls since I've upgraded to .180 as well.

On the phone with a RIM support rep, he had me make a minor adjustment in my router configuration (changing the beacon interval to the lowest interval supported - I believe it I changed it to 20 msec). Anyway, after making that change, he told me to turn off my Mobile Network connection and called me back to test if I would experience a dropped call -- of course, just as you would expect, the call worked flawlessly and I was hopeful.

Then I came home last night and again, another dropped call within 5 minutes.

In the spirit of attempting to isolate the issue is I turned off my connection to "Mobile Network" off while at home and connected left the connection to my wi-fi only active. Again, I did some test calls and I didn't experience the dropping of calls issue.

Of course, this configuration isn't ideal and defeats the purpose of the flexibility the automatic switching between networks is supposed to provide however does appear to me that this is where my issue is occurring. I will report this to the technical support but if others experience this same behavior maybe it will help then isolate the issue for a fix.

I download the new OS and than the phone acts up, I redownload the OS (.180), I do a battery pull, I have T-Mo send me the service books (the rep did it once and I did again afterwards) and I still have the issue. Last night it happened again, about the same time frame (15-20 minute phone call conversation) and than I used the phone again (mind you network turned off throughout this time) and it lasted the 32 minute conversation.

At the moment I am just logging where (how far away from router) and when (time frame) it happens to be able to call the T-Mo reps and give them an exact idea of what I am experiencing.

I saw the update .180 released on 10/22/007. I feel no need to dl it on my curve. I rather waited later do it till Last thursday, I decided to dl it update on my 8320. Yesterday, I went store for something. Kinko is near store location. I want to tested it on my curve at kinko. I walk approach kinko, meanwhile I notice EDGE TO UMA with wifi logo. I was like whoa! I play with it for while, browser load so fast via WIFI/UMA than EDGE. I chat with my some friends on IM via wifi, response so quicky! I was like OH SH*T! I realized that personal data and others transferred from 8700 to 8320 that cause not work function before I updated .180 on my 8320.

.180 running my curve pretty well and no problem.. I am so happy with it now.

I downloaded .180 yesterday and all is well. Initially I saw my UMA signal pop right up but it seems to come and go - both at home and at work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but it was the same before I upgraded so assume the problems on my end.

What was your previous phone? Did you use the switch device wizard becasue that was causing issues in the beginning with stuff carrying over from previous BB's.

I had an 8700. No, I actually haven't played around with the switch device wizard but will try to tonight. I actually think my wireless at home is a bit 'iffy' at times anyway. I know I should be using my WiFi more but I admit that I'm sometimes a bit impatient

There was a known issue where some certificates on an 8320 would be removed by the Switch Device Wizard which RIM indicates has been resolved.

Thanks Dave. Like right now at home, I get the WiFi symbol and next to that the uma symbol (in lower case). But when I first upgraded to .180 I noticed the UMA was in caps. I'm wondering if it's the same as with EDGE/edge (lowercase means no data?) or if it's just be an issue with the theme...but all indications say it's on.

UPDATE: Never mind. I did a battery pull and now the signal comes up all caps UMA and all looks well.

Grab a copy of Stinsonddog's Tip sheet for the 8300's. It has all that info in it. uma vs. UMA, etc...

Thanks John. I'll check it out.

I also need to read more on freeing up memory. After I loaded .180 I wanted to delete some of the themes I didn't want. I also deleted the media bundle file to remove the preloaded pics. However, upon restart my BB had a broken arrow flickering across the top right hand side of the screen and I new I screwed something up. I could get into each file but the main screen was white and the icons were all messed up. I thought I accidentally deleted the theme I was using but that wasn't the case - however I did mess up something...but I was able to go back and fix it. I'm not daring to delete the media bundle file anymore tho...just in case that was the problem.
