Thank you cakemaster! I'm downloading it now. Thanks again for the update.

I downloaded and installed 4.0.0.185 from the tmobile website.

http://www.t-mobile.com/products/default.asp?class=pda

Select your model and click on the "system upgrade" link on the left of the screen. You must allow pop-ups for the window to open.

They have a Desktop install file and an OS upgrade file available.

I was running the AT&T OS4.0 and the desktop software recognized the t-mobile as a software upgrade and installed it accordingly. It functions the same for the most part. I think some of the applications respond faster while they're transmitting data. (i.e. - the phone and message app.)

The upgrade reset my personal settings and of course I had to re-regeistar Web Viewer from rqwireless. All of my pictures were removed and everything goes back to the default t-mobile settings. The databases are in tack, but any custom settings you had will be reset.

E-mail settings and web browsing remained okay and my Magmic game remained registared and worked flawlessly after the upgrade.

Nothing ground breaking if you already were running 4.0, but it seems there are no glitches with the t-mobile 4.0

i'm actually curious why TMO waited so long to release an older version of the software. thats odd. Vodafone has the newer version, FYI (maybe so other providers as well).

It looks like Rogers Wireless has the most recent release (unless the .198 is not "newer" just "Rogers"...

Default Upgraded Tmobile 7230 to new 4.0 software...running slower?

I just upgraded my TMO 7230 to the new TMO 4.0, and it feels like it is running slower than before. Am I being crazy or has anyone else noticed this?

it takes up more memory, so its a good chance that it is running slower, depending on how much memory you have available. might want to check that.

Default Source for Rogers software?

I usually don't install any Rogers software until it appears on this page:
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wire.../downloads.asp

That page still shows 3.8 as the most current release.

Does anybody know whether there is a date for Rogers to update their own site with the 4.0 software?

The software they have offered now on RIM's download page is labeled 'Beta'. These are the latest versions that anyone has offered, though - they are pretty stable releases.

Thanks! The list has been updated.

This is a milestone, now all major North American carriers provide at least one version of BlackBerryOS 4.0 .... With some exceptions such as Cingular/AT&T which doesn't yet provide the 7100/7290 versions, and Rogers/T-Mobile which only provides a few versions.

Quick question, I have just upgraded a bunch of 6280s w/ BBOS 4.0 mainly for the wireless sync of everything. But now email doesn't not sync (or reconcile) automatically, it will only do it if you select "Reconcile Now" in the options menu. Is there any setting somewhere that will make it reconcile email automatically. BTW these BBs are on BES 4.0.

Thanks

svreeland,

Your question will probably be answered more quickly in the "BES Admin Corner"

Default Can't download Verizon 4.0

Has anyone experienced the following when trying to download 4.0 from Verizon?

The number you have entered is not a valid Verizon Wireless phone number.

probably just some provisioning error on VZ's part. just give them a call and have your number provisioned correctly for their webapp.
