Yup, it must have been the 8300 you saw with the OS.

I have a Blackberry Pearl running on Cingular with OS Package Version: 4.2.0.89. I'm having huge problems getting the Bluetooth connection to stay connected to my Audi Q7 and read here that alphanumeric characters in the Contacts list is causing the two to drop their sync and this new version of the OS fixes this problem.

Question: is there a specific OS i should use to upgrade given i'm on Cingular or is the Rogers release okay for this phone?

Please help!
thanks,
Brian

Have not had any voice cutout issues on this yet like the TIM OS. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I am with Rogers therefore I do not need to delete the vendor file? Correct?

Thanks!

Millsy_Pearl
That is correct. However, you won't hurt anything by deleting it.

Hi, new to the forum... just got my BB 8100 last friday. Did some searching and ended up in this awesome forum. I updated my OS last night, after 3 hours. Finally got it too work, but I read this whole topic, alot posted that it speed up the media. But when I tried mines, sometimes its quick, sometimes its slow.. and most of the time... it just lag there for over 20sec.. any ideas?

It doesn't bother anyone else that in order to download this you agree to their terms that say, "I promise that I am on the Rogers network?" For those of us that aren't, that can't be legal. If anything goes wrong, you could get in trouble. Not to mention probable warranty voiding, etc. I was ready to update anyway (I've done it before), but not after seeing that I have to agree to that.

I'll just wait and pray that T-Mobile gets the update and then I can use it legally. But TMO is still on .64, so...who knows when that'll happen.

Upgraded to Rogers v4.2.1.148 yesterday and have an error today when connected to Audi A6 2005
"Uncaught exception java.lang.ClassCastException"
After that message bluetooth is droping the connection with the car and freeze until buttery removed (bluetooth can't be turn off in the menu and led flashing blue as connected)

Any suggestions???

Since upgrading yesterday to v4.2.1.94 my browsing speed has become horrible. Also my yahoo email is not being pushed to my phone, I already resent service books. I was previously using the TIM release. Any suggestions on what I can try?

Also browsing through pictures speed did not really improve for me.

Hello

I have finished installing the new OS and it looks great. Now I would like to unlock the new themes. Unfortunately I can not go to this directory (c:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared\loader files\8100-v4.2.1.94_P2.3.0.77). And when I just go to loaderfiles, there is no blackberry.alx

Am I doing something wrong?

If you've loaded that OS on your Pearl then that folder should be under "loader files."

The upgrade has gone great for me. In addition for my videos working again, I am now able to type emails while listening to music. In all prior versions, the was a long lag time after each letter and many letters would get skipped. Much better now!

Nope. It also doesn't bother me to park my motorbike on the sidewalk, cross the street in the middle of the block, drive faster than 65mph on the freeway, or remove the tags from matresses.

Bad to the bone my man, bad to the bone. B-b-b-b-b-b-aaaad.
