Default Micro SD Card

I cannot get my Micro SD card to format. I've gone into the options and switched all of the stuff in there. Any other suggestions?

Default Maybe your folders are created on it correctly

If you truly can't format it or read it when it's plugged into your phone, find a way to get the micro SD card into your computer (e.g., insert it in the SD carrier, then plug it into a card reader). Use Windows to format it (right-click on the drive letter, then select Format...) as FAT (not FAT32 or NTFS). Then open the drive and create a folder named BlackBerry. Open that folder and create 5 folders named music, pictures, ringtones, videos, and voicenotes.

It might also be good to drop a few MP3 songs into the music folder and a few JPG pix in the pictures folder.

Put the micro SD card back in your phone and see if it can find the card and see the songs and pix.

I would format it with the computer not BlackBerry, I did hear that formatting the MicroSD card in the BlackBerry does not work I think it was that the BlackBerry re boots before the format is complete.

I ran into that program when I tried formating threw the BlackBerry, I had to format it from my computer and put it back in my BlackBerry and everything was fine.

Ok i'm new to the whole balckberry phone, I just purchased a 2gig micro card, I have Verizon, I looked threw the manual and they show you that you just put the card in, I didn't read that you have to format the card, do you have to??

MY 8130 couldn't see or format my 2 gig SD card til I did a battery pull... Just have the BB switched on and pop out the battery for 30 seconds or so, and reinstall it. It might take a few minutes to reboot completely.

The battery pull solved a few problems for me...the Bluetooth connectivity with my Scala500 earpiece suddenly worked a lot better too...

Search around in the FAQs for more info on the battery pull trick...it helps in a lot of cases. Good luck...
