To Configure The "New Message" alert:

1. Go To "Profiles" click the "trackwheel" and pick your current profile *it should say (on)*.
2. Then click the "trackwheel" and pick "Edit".
3. Look down your list.. mine shows:
Browser
Calendar
Level 1 Messages
Messages
Messenger - Alert
Messenger - New Message
Phone
SMS
Tasks

So I would click on "Messenger - New Message" (with the trackwheel) then click on "edit" with the trackwheel.
That is where you will change the way you are notified.
