Default IMAP via WiFi on Tmobile

Please Login to Remove!

I searched the forum and saw that there was a problem accessing IMAP email via the WiFi.

I was wondering if anyone on the Tmobile network has been able to receive IMAP over their WiFi connection.

I don't have the phone yet, but im trying to narrow down my options. I dont plan on purchasing a BB data plan, but just using the wifi connection and the @Home hotspot for unlimited calling.

Thanks,

Danny

Exactly what application are you talking about to do your IMAP access? The BB device does not have an inherent ability to do anything IMAP related, you'll need an application to do it for you; at this time the only choice is LogicMail which is in... let's say a late alpha stage.

LunkHead has a whole thread on what you can/can't do without a data plan, best to check over in that thread.

Yeah I just checked and I'm able to get the unlimited Internet plan for BB for $19.99. I think I'll do that instead.

I'm able to get on wifi and still use bb specific applications if I have the BB data plan right?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Yes, that is correct. I am doing it right now. While on WiFi I can get push e-mail, use BlackBerry Messenger, and, of course, surf the web with the BlackBerry Browser.

Awesome, thanks for the information! I really appreciate it.

Hopefully tmobile will be able to price match a 3rd party site, where I can get the curve for free :P
