Hi everyone,

I need help so that I can hear an alert when I get a new email. I have scoured the forums but haven't yet found an answer

I am in the U.K and I got my curve from Vodafone.
I unlocked it so that I could use my T-Mobile sim with my unlimited data then I installed the updated software which is at the top of this page.

I have everything working great gmail & web browsing with Opera etc and I am happy except for the fact that I need to hear an alert when I get a new email!

I read that I have to register on my BIS, but which one is it? when I try to register on T-Mobile it says that my curve is contracted to a different network, but surely if I register on Vodafone it wont work with my T-Mobile sim ?

I wasnt expecting this as it is now unlocked?

So what can I do??

Sorry if this all sounds a bit dim, but I have never had a blackberry before and I am still learning

I have already done all that but thank you anyway!

Like I said I have been trying to sort this for a few days, I know all about the profiles menu ect but my gmail account is not in messages so I cant personalise it, I have read that it is because I have to register at my BIS, but which one?

Its originally a Vodafone curve but is now unlocked and using T-Mobile, but T-Mobile wont let me register on there as it says the handset is contracted to another network, but if I register on Vodafone then I cant use my T-Mobile sim....can I??

Setup the BIS account with Vodafone. It sends information to your BlackBerry based on the PIN or IMEI numbers, not the phone number. It should have anything to do with the phone number or network your connected to.

Will I be charged for anything by Vodafone?

I dont want to pay T-Mobile each month for my data and then get charged by Vodafone as well!

As I said I am learning "slowly" and to be honest I dont really understand what a BIS is, I know what the letters stand for but is it something that I will be billed for?
