Initially I thought you could (i.e. the ramble thread that the last release date is in the subject), however I obviously either missed something, or didn't test properly.

Is this possible? Can I change the overall subject of a thread that I started?

I think you (regular user) can only change a title when no replies have been made. You can always PM a mod to edit it for you if you like.

Moderators have the power to make thread title edits. If there's a good reason that a thread title needs to be edited, send a PM.

(IMPORTANT: PM is mainly used for emergencies and forum-related operations -- all of us busy moderators/volunteers generally prefer people post their BlackBerry questions in the public. Thanks!)

The time limit for editing is set to 5 minutes. You either would have noticed in phpBB that you could edit thread titles at any point, or if you have tried to make an edit prior to the 5 minute time limit, then that would be it.

If Tom wants to allow for thread title edits, he can set the option to 0 in the main vBulletin options. However, this is not a user-level option that you can set yourself.
