Smile 8100 car cradle with built in charger

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone tell me what kinds and part numbers are out there.I have only seen one and it is $99.00. Seems like a lot of cash for a cradle. I want to have my 8100 charging, with the back light on and be able to see it while I am driving.I have searched for one on the other threads with no luck.Any help you can give would be GREAT!! Thanks

Here's how did mine... I have a 7100i (locked into Nextel w/my company), I like things neat and tidy in my car. This is mounted to the dash with a bracket I purchased from pro-fit-intl dot com, which makes dedicated brackets for most popular cars. The mount for the actual blackberry I purchased from Telenav dot com, although I see a mount is available thru pro-fit.
I have the power cord powering it off an aux 12v jack on the side of the console. On my particular 7100, I cannot have the backlighting stay on at all times. Altho, not really sure you'd want to, as the display is fairly bright. May be diff on the pearl, not really sure.
Hope this helps... total investment, under $100. for all pieces involved, including power cord.

There's one available soon! Not as pricey as the one you found but it sure is not cheap.

It's called Comfort CRADLE by BURY
Product Description: This BlackBerry 8100 handheld specific cradle is designed in such a way that it can be combined with Bluetooth hands-free car kits of any manufacturer. In addition, the Comfort CRADLE provides unlimited talk time in the vehicle thanks to the integrated battery charging technology. The external antenna (included in scope of supply) ensures an optimum connection to your interlocutor. The cradles allows a comfortable and secure placement of your mobile phone when driving. Thus, the Comfort CRADLE eliminates the typical weak points that arise when using hands-free kits with Bluetooth technology.

Retails at $80.00

I have 50 units on this ordered and looking to selling this around $60+ plus s/h
Coming this December 2006

Might do special pricing for BBF Members for less if it arrives before Christmas.

so if you want to go all the way with radio muting and sound system without bt headset or wired headset integration you'd also get the:
"Wireless hands-free car kits with Bluetooth Techonlogy[mfgs misspelling]

Comfort COMPACT BT - is a complete hands-free car kit with the Bluetooth module conveniently supporting Voice Dialling in Blackberry handhelds. So, if your handheld features the voice-dial function, it is absolutely quick and practical in use because a call can be established by speaking the phone number or name; also, Comfort COMPACT BT includes a radio-mute when calling. Comfort COMPACT BT means practicality and an elegant solution in your vehicle because all that is visible after installing it is the illuminated remote control, which ensures optimal handling."
?

I wonder how does the antenna connect...an integrated power antenna cable connecting to the usb? you can access the antenna via the usb connector?

My tmobilnterlocutor will be pleased

Anyone on this forum have experience using products from htis manufacturer. The make several BB models.

The Comfort COMPACT BT you just described is not available YET (in the US) for the BlackBerry 8100 model, which is what thefatneck was looking for.

If he is not willing to spend $99 for a car cradle, he sure would not spend for the COMPACT BT because we are looking at $170 Retail price for it.
