Default BB Messenger

Hi just wordering if anyone can help, I am planning on taking my BB 8100 from the UK to the USA and need to know if the BB Pin messenger to other BB back in the UK will work? And still be free?

No it won't be free.

You will need a BlackBerry Data Plan covering the area in which you are traveling. Otherwise, you will be charged roaming fees by your carrier. Typically, these fees are very high.

Once you get the data plan for the area in which you will be traveling, then BBM will be covered under the BlackBerry Data Plan.

Yes it will definitely work as long as you have EDGE network coverage. BB Messenger is global for all users. There will be a data cost, but a BBM is very few bytes and will be less than a roaming text costs.

I know several people that have Verizon and are in the middle east and the data services work and does not count as roaming. Only talking and texting is considered roaming. They have the Verizon BB unlimited plan

They have an add-on plan that covers international data usage. I have one as well through T-Mobile that covers me everywhere.

However, your post is unrelated to this post as the OP is from the UK, and none of the UK carriers offer international BlackBerry plans like the US carriers do.
