Angry Deleting auto complete contacts when composing email

Please Login to Remove!

Ever since updating to OS 5 on VZW, I now have email addresses from an email address that I had temporarily on my BIS and from people who have emailed me - all who are NOT in my contacts - coming up as an auto complete. How do I delete these from my auto complete list (eg like hitting "delete" on an auto complete contact in Outlook). It's very annoying and has a long list of email addresses, half of which I don't even know!

If I understand correctly, I think what you may want is mailbox>options>General Options> "show recent contacts when composing e-mail" set to "no."

Thanks! That did the job. But now the question is why is my BB logging these email addresses? I've never noticed it do that before. It's as if it was automatically adding an auto complete for ALL addresses that came through my BB (not ones that I necessarily even wrote to, either.) So now that I shut that off, where are these addresses "living" on my BB? Is it some invisible cache?

It's an OS bug that some users are seeing.

Has anyone else noticed this "bug" yet? It's one thing to be able to turn it off in the general email settings, but I'm curious to know where the cache is for these email addresses and how you can clear them out. I'm sure it will eventually take up space and it's worse than Gmail, which automatically puts any email address you send an email to in your contacts. This even takes incoming emails that you don't respond to!
