I recently got a Blackberry 8900 Curve, and I love it. Last night I accidentally split red bull on it. I dried it off (probably not very well) and it worked, and then it stopped working, so I turned it off and now it won't turn back on.
When I got home I took the back off and the battery and sim out, and left it to dry. This morning I put it in a bowl of rice.
Is there anything else I can do at this point? Is spilling red bull much worse than water? Is red bull corrosive?

Running it while wet is probably the worst thing you can do. Never had a Red Bull, but I assume it is going to leave a sticky residue on the keys. Probably too late now, but there is advice in the FAQ section on dealing with wet Blackberries: Got Your BlackBerry Wet? - BlackBerryFAQ

Do you think its wise to dunk it in distilled water? I saw this suggestion somewhere, but am worried about getting it more wet.

Why in the world would you want to dunk it in water? Water is the worst thing for an electrical device.

I had one get wet once. Took it complete apart and used blow dryer on it and then let it sit. About 4 days later it came back to life.

Would you dunk your TV in water? How about a blowdryer or your toaster? OK, let's say you did, would you turn it on while it's in the water? Come on people. Jeez.

No, but others have already addressed that. If you do end up with stick residue you might want to try a good quality residue free contact cleaner. Faced with the same problem I would take it as far apart as I was comfortable with and only direct the contact cleaner at the affected parts. Then give it some days with the battery out to ensure the cleaner had evaporated.

Ok, truthfully I would drop the sticky berry off in the tech lab and tell them to have a good time, on my way to the account manager to order a replacement. One of the perks of working for a large hi-tech organization.

I think your BB is gone. You ran it while it was still wet so you must have fry something.
