Am I the only one who has the SMS bug fixed in this version? Names are showing fine, whereas the previous version obviously had the bug. You do lose the ability to specify which emails you wish to appear in the main message list. And no Asian language input.

SMS Issue fixed for me with this one. Specifically, SMS that had been backed up, that were only numbers before now all show names. Very happy about that.

Currently running 5.0.0.351. Tried to upgrade the OS to 405 via the Blackberry Update site, however it said I had the latest OS available.

I don't either. The #1 thing I was hoping to see fixed is the inability to save profile settings for 3rd party apps - but this is not fixed in this version.

I was kind of hoping also to see the badges for new mail / IM messages fixed but that too is still not fixed.

Hopefully RIM and carriers realize there are still things in this OS version that need to be fixed - that appear they ARE fixed in some later builds and that their work is not yet done.

Fixed my wifi problems. With previous release wifi showed that it was on and would show the SSID and seemingly obtain an IP address and authenticate, but would never actually connect (icon never turned from grey to white or showed a check in the connection list). Now it works fine.

Unhappy

This actually broke several things for me! For one, the 'Messages' button on my theme no longer works (didn't with the original OS, but worked fine with the last update!). Also, the text in the call log doesn't size correctly. Again, it's a Theme-related issues, I suppose, but bot these worked before!

Why did I upgrade? I'm asking the same question - as I downgrade the thing again....

What fixes are there, really? (I didn't test wifi - which hasn't worked right for me yet...)

MyFaves support in T-Mobile is working with this release. There may still be a few quirks, but the essentials are there.

Same here, for what it's worth.
So far new this upgrade/update is working well.

Since update Google Maps will not work.

TonyTone, how you make BBmaps work. ATT blocks it, I see it installed but it will not show, even after I do "show-all" under options? I had it once with ATT on my old 8310 by downgrading the installation, but when OS went to 4.5 that trick did not work for me anymore. Ideas/Suggestions?

I never had a problem installing an upgrade on my 8900. Anytime I've ever tried an update on my 9700 it always says "No changes required" every single time. I've upgraded BlackBerrys at least 75 times in my life why is the Bold such a pain in the balls?

Actually, MyFaves support is still pretty iffy, at least for T-Mobile. I finally ended up keeping the OS upgrade but deleting the MyFaves *.cod files.

Only one of my icons would come through consistently. The other four usually wouldn't show up; the interface would be stuck on "Loading MyFaves". And I would get text messages saying that I had chosen icons of the wrong format (the icons were taken directly from the T-Mobile MyFaves site).

No big deal; the important thing for me is that the numbers are recognized as MyFaves by the billing department.

Default No Asian Input on EastAsia version

I don't know if anyone here has tried the EastAsia version in the link above, but there is only font support... no input at all. Which means you can display the font/characters for the East Asia languages, but you can't write in it.

It's a first for me. Usually all the EastAsia or AllLang OS's I've installed have the inputs on top of just the font support.

Just FYI.

I have an SMS question for anyone who has installed .405:

When you receive a new SMS and select/click it in the messages menu, where does the cursor immediately go? Do you have to scroll down to the input box (or press R) before you type your reply or does the cursor automatically go there so you can immediately type a reply? Please answer this for NEW, UNOPENED SMS only.

In other builds of the OS, I've noticed that for new messages it makes you scroll down to the input box whereas old, already read messages would start you right in the input box. This inconsistency was annoying enough for me that I downgraded to .351 since often I'm not looking at my screen as I type; I just start typing before I realize I wasn't actually typing in the box.

Thanks.
