If anyone has recently upgraded their device software and then subsequently wiped the handheld, you may be getting the above error any time you use the Application Center on your BlackBerry Storm. You also are likely getting certificate errors when trying to use Visual Voicemail. After researching many sites and trying to fix this problem myself, I finally called Verizon to get some professional help. As it turns out, they had not been aware of this problem (at least they couldn't find anything in their support database). We dialed up RIM to get help and they too were not able find anything related. I had seen this article on CrackBerry (
Application Center List Empty - HELP!! (Also a VVM question) - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com) but the user was not able to post the link to the certificates that were lost during the wipe. After I explained (many times to both the Verizon Tech and RIM Tech) that I just need "the link" to get to the certificates, they both agreed that there is no such link. Lo and behold the RIM tech found an article (after 2 hours of us trying to wipe, re-wipe and re-re-wipe) with the link to the Certificates. The link is here and is available via OTA (
http://www.blackberry.com/go/missingcerts) - after the certs are downloaded then you will be asked to reset to activate the certificates. After the restart I was able to use Application Center and Visual Voicemail, etc, without certificate errors.
I hope this helps at least one person!
