Default Problems syncing Calendar with BES 4.0

Please Login to Remove!

One of our blackberries is having issues synchronizing the Calendar. We are using BES 4.0. This one blackberry is special because we don't want it to wirelessly sync, but rather to use MS Outlook and synchronize when plugged in. The problem is when we change the setting under "configure PIM" to synchronize the Calendar using MS Outlook, it keeps eventually switching back to Blackberry Wireless Sync. Why doesn't the change commit?

We're able to makybe sync the calendar once, but when we unplug the BB it changes back to wireless sync.

Has anyone ever seen this problem?

On the device:
Turn off "Wireless synchronization" in the Options when you are in the Calendar view.
Then change the PIM sync options on the Desktop Manager.

The Wireless Synchronization setting is set to "No." Still, in the PIM, the Calendar keeps changing back to sync using Blackberry Wireless Sync.

Maybe you have the option "locked" on the BES.

Default Calender Sync

I'm also having the same issues trying to configure a user to not wirelessly sync the calendar. I'm running BES 4.0 SP3 and desktop manger 4.1. I can't find any options on the BES server itself to disable just the calendar wireless sync. I know there is a bug in BES 4.0 SP3 software and it has to do with sync issues but i'm not sure what exactly or if it's related
any ideas?

In the BES management console, right click the user, and choose properties. There should be a PIM sync tab with sub tabs that will allow you to configure each one individually. Disable Calendar wireless.

Ensure that in Desktop Manage you have MS Outlook selected and not BlackBerry wireless sync.
