Default e-mail alert setting

How do you change the setting so you do not hear an alert when an e-mail comes to the blackberry?

Thank You~

New to BB, so I don't know if it's different on other BBs. I have a BB curve 8320.

You have to go into Pofiles, scroll all the way down to advanced settings, choose which profile you want to edit, click on the short menu button in order to choose edit, then choose which email you want to edit. Once you click on the email you can change all the options.

Hope this helps,

The menu button is to the immediate left of the trackball, and has the BlackBerry "dots" logo

That is what I thought. When I click on it the profiles go away and it goes back to the home screen.

No, while you are in the Advanced... menu:

1) Scroll to the profile you want to edit so it is highlighted.
2) Click on the Menu (Blackberry) button.
3) Scroll to Edit and press on the trackball.

NO? You just repeated my instructions, albeit more concise.

The assumption had already been made that the OP was sitting in the Advanced area... needed only instructions from there.

Your "other" left.

Are you sure you're not hitting the arrow button? The menu key should always bring up something, and not act like it's counterpart the escape key, on the other side of the trackball.

I think he is staying in the main Profiles menu without going to the Advanced... screen.

Apologies then... my bad

Perhaps he backed up then. At last post he was at advanced looking at the profiles.
