Default 8320 / 8GB Micro SD Card Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, a newbie to both the forums and BB devices!

Just a quick question, can an 8GB Micro SD card work in my 8320 Curve?

Also, how do I check it would be compatible with my current software on my handset etc?

I'd rather check all that first before buying an 8GB card...

Thanks for all replies in advance.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8320)

In order to use an 8GB microSDHC card you will need to be running operating system 4.3 or higher. You can check your current operating system by going to Options > About.

Welcome to the forums HAPPYTREE. Please try out the FAQ (here), stickies (found at the top of each forum) and search option.

Yes, your Curve will support an 8GB Micro SD card (depending on your OS being 4.3+). Not entirely sure what you mean by it being compatible with your current software.

Thanks for the welcome and replies!

Seems my handset is running version 4.2, so will need to update that before I buy.

Thanks again!

I have had success using an 8310 on 4.2 and pre formatting the card fat32 on a computer first. Once this was done it registered 7.6 gig.
Good luck...

i just upgraded to 4.5.0.52 on my 8320 and i'm using a sandisk 8gb microsd card... works great!! i've got 7gb of music loaded and loving it!!

if you have 4.2 or earlier, your 8gb may show up, but for all intents and purposes, it won't be usable...

the issue of 8gb or 6gb working in 4.2 or earlier has been discussed, ad nauseum and it's been concluded that it will not work...

upgrade to 4.5, then get the 8gb... well worth it!!
